Zonda_ 0
Anyone had the conversion done on theirs? I'm going to get it done soon as an alternative to having to sell the car! I'm starting a new job in September which will be 500 miles a week along twisty country roads. Not ideal for this thirst beasty! An lpg conversion costs
VR6Pete 1,455
now that's dedication to your VR6!
wagvr6 0
I did hear rumours of huge tax increases on lpg ?,check it out first!
Zonda_ 0
Yep, I was trying to think of things I could replace it with and I realised I couldn't bear to part with it. It's the perfect all rounder. It'll tow my race car, cruise in silence and roar like a touring car with the K&N!I can't imagine they'll increase tax to petrol levels anytime soon. I pay 91p at the minute, gas in 32!
VR6Pete 1,455
Do you loose any performance on gas over petrolium?
antera309 3
Following an earlier post on the subject, I searched everywhere for evidence of a planned duty hike on LPG, but couldn't find one. The Government seem quite keen to keep fuel duty levels where they are.LPG cars are exempt from the London congestion charge too, although not sure whether that only applies to factory-fitted systems.Never heard of a Mk3 VR6 being LPG'd before, but I saw a magazine feature on an LPG'd Mk4 4Motion, so it's definitely possible (and economic) to do it. Eat this 2
Do you loose any performance on gas over petrolium?i think u do lose some but not too much how about a supercharged vr on lpg now thats worth sellin kidneys for lol
Zonda_ 0
All websites say that there is no loss in performance now. There was in the early days but the problems have been sorted now.
Eat this 2
the only thing that worries me is lpg on tuned cars would it affect ignition advance etc etc etc
Nerih 0
imagine a supercharged LPG...sweet.
VR6Rich 3
I used to do 500 miles a week for my job so I know how this feels! LOLI just changed my job though. :-)Does the LPG conversion take up much space, i.e. in the boot?
Zonda_ 0
Depends on what size tank you go for. You can have a donut tank in the spare wheel well but that seems preey pointless. Then you can have varying size tanks in the boot. With mine being a Vento I'm gonna go for a 70 litre one behind the back seats and still have a massive boot!
ingham 5
i looked into this last year ,even test drove a vr on gas,was told that it does knock off preformance abit but can up the gas to match but ends up using lots of gas,end up costing same as petrol
Zonda_ 0
I doubt that. There is a 60p a litre price difference, you woulld be talking single figure fuel consumption to even come close!
