Plug and play remap

Recommended Posts

Yo anyone know what I'd be looking at after a simple plug and play remap at there's no where on guernsey with a rolling road to do one? Would be fitting a raceland manifold, cat-back with high flow cat and aftermarket center and rear silencer, looking at a ram air air intake like the bmc cda but it's cheaper think it's an obd2 manual haven't actually got the car yet getting it on the 3rd

The chip inside needs to either to be re-coded, or swapped with another chip depending on ECU model.

You can only swap the chip if you have certain ECU models, as some models have sockets with a removable chip, where other models have the chip soldered directly to the board.

If you have a soldered type chip, the chip needs un-soldering, and a socket fitted instead.

Chips and sockets can be bought from a few companies,

United Motorsport,

C2 Motorsport.

Dub force,

VW parts international,

As you live far away you could also remove your ECU unit, and send it away for re-mapping / re-coding. Where they re-code the original chip inside. Vince at stealth racing is very good at doing this. It would be better to take the car there and get it on rolling road at same time, but Vince at stealth has tuned so many, he also very good at doing it with out the car, and just the ECU unit.

So in my eyes best bet, give stealth racing a ring, have a chat to Vince, and send them your ECU, you will be with out it for about 3-5 working days. And should cost around £150-200, but it by far the best option, unless you can take the car to stealth racing aswell.
