mrsusan 31
Thought I'd share some pics. I am more on the Corrado forum (where there is a much more comprehensive thread) but I lurk here quite a bit (mainly to read the technical bits and perve on cars) so I thought I'd do my bit and add to the site. It's a 1995 corrado storm. I bought it standard in 2010, which meant I had to sell my beloved old 16v...Stuck some all red rears on...Found an old dyno result sheet in the history folder. It' had an original AmD chip and Ram Air, rather optimistic figures!Drove it around like this for a year or so, promising myself that I'd keep it unmolested due to the 'Storm factor'. Anyway, once I realised that the car being a Storm means FA, I decided to change bits that had been bugging me!Firstly, the dashboard was driving me nuts. The whole interior was cream, except for a black plastic dash. I don't have photos of how it was at hand, this is all I could find from when I was tracing a water leak:I used the leak as an excuse to take the dashboard out and get it trimmed in matching leather. As well as that, I asked the guy to connolise the seats for good measure...An hour or so later I was left with this mess:During this time I replaced the heater matrix as it is a dash out job. A couple of weeks later I collected my dash and seats:More to come... Edited February 24, 2014 by mrsusan VR6Pete
mrsusan 31
Once home I didn't hang about, I missed driving the car and needed to put it back together! I forgot to mention before, but I took the entire cream carpet to a laundrette and it came out like new!Unfortunately the lovely connolised seats didn't stand the test of time, they ideally need a retrimmed but I think I'll hold out for a set of Recaros RadoRaj
mrsusan 31
With the interior almost done I decided to sort out the 4x4 ride height and wheels. I bought a set of KW V2 coilovers which have been brilliant, and somehow managed to get my hands on a set of genuine BBS CH006 17x8.5 ET35 5x100 wheels. On top of this I found my exhaust was rotten so stuck a Milltek on, which later got replaced by a Jetex.I took all the bits to Reuben at Tuningwerkes in Croydon as it was way too cold to work outside!Set a bit higher initially so that the coilovers could settle. Sorry for the crap phone picsAfter a couple of weeks or so...I had planned to space the rears out a bit, but it's one of one jobs you never get round to doing! In the last pic you could really see the scabs and chips in the paintwork. It was next on the list!...
mrsusan 31
Took it to a local paint shop and had the works done. Not a bare metal respray, but enough to look presentable! Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of the process as I was away with work... Had to collect it from the paint shop owners house for some odd reason (him in the background lol). Think he just wanted an excuse to drive it!I thought I'd probably spent a bit too much at this point so I decided to enjoy the car and take it to some shows.Stanford Hall 2013:Ready to go:Motorsport at the Palace:Sorry for the randomly crap pics, maybe I need to buy a proper camera! More to come Ickyketseddie

mrsusan 31
It was here that I was thinking of selling . I loved the looks, but the VR was struggling to keep up with modern metal. While lurking here I noticed someone was selling a Vortech V1 kit and decided to have another throw of the dice! The 3 week wait at Stealth was a long'un!Stage 2, nice results. The V1 sounded epic! Now to show you all my shame, the grotty power plant!Enjoyed it for a bit, took it to the autometrix castle Combe day where the corrados went on a parade lap...
mrsusan 31
Ok, last post of the initial bulk and taking me to present day. The Vortech was on the car for about 4 months, it will be for sale very shortly so keep your eyes peeled. The car is currently at Stealth (5th week and counting) having something else done and the wait is killing me! Thankfully I'm off on holiday next week so it should ease the pain probably why I'm making this thread too, VR6 on the brain!I did pick up these a few weeks back though. Colour isn't really my preferred choice but the price was nice...Tarox 6 pot 323mm (I think). Spent about an hour trying to get an 18yr old brake hose union undone. Wasn't having it, so it left it to Vince! Will update again when I get the car back time for a drink! Thanks for readingNick Edited November 25, 2013 by mrsusan

mrsusan 31
Thanks Pete, still so much to do though (especially after looking at your engine bay!)It's about to enter its 7th week at Stealth, I'll try and hold out before revealing it but I'm pretty sure you can guess! I've been told that it'll be ready either just before or just after Xmas. Fingers crossed it is before so that I can enjoy it during my time off work VR6Pete

mrsusan 31
Update, mostly pasted from my CF thread and some from the Stealth thread: Setting boost pressure, etc... Power figures, plotted against my Stage 2 charger: Rough spec list (I pick it up this weekend hopefully so I will know the full spec then...) custom 2.5” straight through exhaust/decat3” downpipe v-bandSchimmel 263 cams2mm Steel spacerT04s Garrett Turbo – 0.70 cold, 0.68 hot4” intake with JR air filterSPA T4 Turbo manifold38mm wastegateFMIC440cc InjectorsARP Con rod boltsARP head studsClosed loop dump valveMocal external oil coolerVibratechnics mountsDubpower HT leadsWalbro uprated fuel pumpHelix organic clutchQuaife LSDVince mapProbably some other bits I've forgottenStarted messing about with a spare rear view mirror and cheapo boost gauge:I didn't really want to put the gauge in the vent location by the headlight switch, I wanted it more in my periphery. I decided to gut the gauge, split the PCBs and join them together using some old PC ribbon cable into the rear view mirror:Etched out the mirror backing using a dremel and fortunately I just about managed to get everything to fit inside the rear view mirror casing more importantly though - it works! The wires need to be a bit stealthier, but I plan to run them up towards the headlining and then taking a long path down the A pillar. On the lookout for a better quality gauge with a nicer colour, but it was a real fiddly job so may use this one for a bit first and see how I get on As mentioned, should be getting the car back end of the week/weekend so will update then VR6Pete, cactusjackslade, daveyboy and 1 other

mrsusan 31
Cheers will look to see what a mk3 rear view mirror looks like and see if I can do it on one. If not the corrado one shouldn't look too out of place!
Marneus 78
I've got a spare mk3 one you can have buddy. I'll send it down to you & you can have a look at it at your leisure (it would be going in the if you don't want it) VR6Pete

I'll send it down to you & you can have a look at it at your leisure (it would be going in the if you don't want it) Thanks for the offer mate, really kind of you! It just so happens though that a friend is about to scrap his mk3 (a 1.4) so I can nick his mirror. I'm presuming they are the same as the VR6 ones. Will keep you posted though I am looking into better quality boost gauges despite it being a shame to buy one only to rip it apart!
