1994
197k ORIGINAL KMS
Motor has never been opened
removing the pipes you can see it has never been removed, used an entire can of carb cleaner to clean out the isv and filter, TB is dirty and it has about 9008 more problems with but jeebus it was worth the price after really inspecting the car... still need to load up vagcom and see wtf is going on and need to fix break light, both headlights and the fan either doesn't work at all or its on the entire time, needs a new battery and the car is very pap... sounds epic tho and looks the part as well... need a CLi lip for the front and the indicators doesn't work and needs everything to be replaced on the suspension... oh what fun lol

Tuning: Jody Van Schoor

Company: JVS Tuning

Friday-

Jody calls tell me my car spat out a welsh plug while he was loading the car on the dyno at 5000rpm.. off i go and we correct it.

Saturday-

Temperature - 37 degrees, 32 degrees inside

Head on off to the dyno, start the car and let the fans pop on, everything looks good, half way through the first base run water comes shooting out of the water bottle, air lock, so we drain and make sure its 100's again. A load dyno is no fokken joke... if anything had to break it would have exploded on the dyno, so i can feel feathers hitting limited whole day in the car lol..

Speed run in 3rd:

Base run - JDMWorx wheel dyno previously was 131kw

4000rpm - 86

5000rpm -113.5

5500rpm -121.3

6000rpm -127.8

6500rpm -115.0

Pump Fuel

4000rpm - 91.3

5000rpm - 121

5500rpm - 126.9

6000rpm - 128.5

6500rpm -116.8

Avgas

4000rpm - 96.8

5000rpm - 124.7

5500rpm - 134.2

6000rpm - 136.0

6500rpm - 125.6

Dyno graph -

PXcO3Y6.jpg

Notice the gains in mid..

in all honesty the car feels much stronger...although the dyno says differently

I was the first car on the new dyno to be tuned and it went rather well considering it was msp hot...

some might ask next up?

3.1 block

276 cams

custom gearbox

removing front bumper to respray before the weekend and replacing the lip and door beadings.

1st run: 15.5 - spun into 3rd gear
2nd run: 15.3 - spun into 3rd gear again
3rd run: 15.1 - dropped the tyre pressure a bit but still way too much spinning... little mk1 left me on the line
4th run 14.9 - dropped pressure to 1.5 bar but was still spinning my arse off....but didn't launch properly at the time

wanted to go for a 5th run as i was really getting used to the car but the drags was over...

Going for official drags saturday, car can go MUCH faster, i must just get used to it again...

Done another drag event:

185km per hour over 800m after 2 runs... retired as my oil cooler water pipe tore, fixed it but was still 200km's from home so didnt want to chance it.

nice day had all round and looking to go a bit faster at the next event.. i didnt strip the car down as many others had done, so that is school fees for me.

i ran the same speed as a mk1 vr6, 3.1 with gas, so not bad really, also had a run with a 13.2 sec 16v mk1 and sat a car behind him, so things coming along nicely...

next drags is the 4th, i want to go, get a benchmark and then pull the motor again for 3.1, branches, 276 cams and straight 63mm exhaust...

on the way home a lady in a BMW 1 series knocks into the back of me, cracking the rear bumper and just before getting stuck on the N1 when a plastic make shift T exploded, thought the car was on fire lol... what a friday the 13th indeed..

anyhooo fixed the pipe with a metal piece and went to the dyno the saturday 14th, picked up another 9kw, so on the pump fuel map im sitting on 144kw on the fly..

Off to MSA:
best time of the day was a 15.002

got crank case ventilation  , smoke out the top and zorst on WOT

then some rims...... but then sold again

q9Kst25.jpg

now:
YDMzD9b.jpg

lgTAInT.jpg

ok so head off and we see the little cunt that caused the smoke, no real damage from what i can see/feel but will strip it and have a look....BMW/Nissan pistons this weekend then off to engineers to bore and then the flywheel for lighting and the head off to mike dixon just to double check everything is perfect...

pics:
h9YH2CK.jpg
ZlCUkXo.jpg

then save a little for the gearbox, bolt kit and LSD

then the straight 63mm exhaust and branches/headers

then GAS and a tune
