The need for speed

Recommended Posts

Highlines usually have about 10 hp more than standard vr6s. A standard vr6 has 174 hp and highlines have 185-90 hp. The difference in hp is due to the larger throttle-body, manifold and different engine management. As badboy says though VW quote the same figures for each car.

Thanks guys! Its interesting to note the specifics of mightyvr6's info. Seems very precise! His engine looks the dogs dangles!

I'd like to think that mine is more powerful! I guess the only way to find out is a staight line race, woah!

I guess mine should pump more horses as its got a induction!

I'll let you know how i get on!!

As Eat This/ Stu says,

All later VR6's came with the changes to the throttle body etc- the OBD2 introduction just kinda roughly coincided with the highline... :-)

Highline spec just got all the goodies that normally had to be paid for, such as full leather interior and air con. I think theres a document about this in the premium members section......

if you look at the results from the vr6oc rolling days, there is no pattern, apart from that most cars kick out more than the official statistics. obd2's aren't always more powerful than obd1, it depends on the exact car...a healthy vr6 is a healthy vr6 at the end of the day. highlines are no different to any obd2 car.
