Ok peeps seeing as its really quiet on the forum. Ill start a debate.

Whats you rant on the Jap car versus German car

Mad mental in your face turbos or understated Q cars?

I love Pete8tch's mates Skyline - awesome. But then i think personally if i had the money - id either buy an R32 and get it remapped or id spend some mad money on a Golf VR6 Syncro and start chasing off Mitsubishi lancers (in a straight line anyway, and as long as it wasnt that FQ400!l lol)

I've found that build quality of the Jap cars is no where near as good as the German cars - a mate of mine had a Pulsar GTIR & another has 200 SX - both fast but interior and general quality wasnt all that compared to my VR6. Jap cars are fast & look ok but I'd rather have a bit of under-rated style with the power not something that some chav is gonna style his VTS on. Theres something about a German car that I cant quite put my finger on - also, I find German cars have more room inside & being 6'3 thats quite handy - in my mates 200SX my knees are on the dash when someones in the back and my head almost touches the roof :D

I had a string of 13 VW's mk 2's Mk3's and a Corrado. I ended up buying a Nissan Almera GTI - a decision i made with the head and not the heart. I bought it as i found everytime i bought a dub id want to mod it and constantly spend money making it look the business!! So i though if i bought something that was quick enough and reliable and not a dub i wouldnt spend out all the cash. To be fair to it i didnt have a problem with it - i just felt style- less, a complete gypo to fair. Handled well though.

If your into Lairy cars then go for Jap stuff but if you want a stealth fighter then go for the vr ;-) Personally I prefer the stealth fighter + they dont break so much and they last longer and hold there value better.

I understand why people like jap stuff but at the end of the day its down to personal preferance.

imo german cars have more grace. I like the Q car thing. totally subtle.

I wouldn't like to have drive around in a car that shouts I'M QUICK I'M QUICK I'M QUICK!!!!!!!!!!!! all the time.

sometimes you just want to blend in -and when you dont BANG!! you can surprise a few people. I'm half tempted to just badge my car as a GTI at the mo.

i used to work with some one who had a mitsubishi evo6 it was damn fast! some say they look too aggresive and ugly but personaly i think they look alright but the interior was typical japanese, so bland! i always wanted a subaru impreza for the sound but i bought a VR stuck an induction kit on and got TVR sound which im happy with.

german every time for me, the mate has had several type r hondas and apart from the new civic ive passed any other type r ive been up the road with, the civic is quick but how much cash to get one???

we had a real good cruise on an old airfield all last summer ( till the land was sold off) at bishopscourt, full 1/4 racing fairly well organised and drew massive crowds of jap cars amongst others, the vr6 beat a uk spec scooby ( from standing start right thru...good half car length most of way up then i began to pull a gap high in 3rd) and several type rs amongst other makes, infact the mates mk2 16v (proper tuned) slaughtered an integra r ( with the r drivers bird videoing the evidence lol)

my fav bit was the fact that alot of the crowds hadnt a clue what the golfs were capable of till they drove back up past crowd victorious!!! q car is the answer and no better q car than a vr6 imo :)

there was a type R civic at the rolling road day i went to sunday he spent quite a few hundred pounds tuning it only to get an extra 4bhp! granted it was making 201bhp but when they're 197bhp standard, i would of been a bit disappointed.

I like Jap style. If I had the money I'd build a stupidly fast one - they look awesome with poper motorposrt mods done. However' date=' there's no way I'd want to drive one all the time as I'd feel a total prat going shopping in it![/quote']

were you still at the meet when that supra went flying past on the A127? at least I think thats what it was I barely saw it, it flew past so quick!

i kind of have equal feeling towards both countries vehicles...

i'm very on-ff though. i like scoobs, mr2's, celica's (twing lamp type), later preludes, but dislike most the rest. pulsar's are crap IMO.

biggest prob with german cars is they tend to be too conservative as standard.

what i crave is a car thats entertaining to drive as standard...my vr6 is finally really good to drive but has aweful ride....so i'm gonna try an mr2 which seems to fit the bill.
