mightyvr6 0
Could be the abs ecu. I'm not sure tbh but vag-com would tell you.
briscoe 0
i get the orange abs light flashes. anyone know how to read them or a list of what the various flashes mean? not codes ie. c1345
briscoe 0
unplugged an replugged the abs ecu and still no joy just in case it could be reset!
VR6Pete 1,455
briscoe : as opposed to assuming things, just get it on the VAG com... it will tell you exactly what is wrong
briscoe 0
will do, do you just drive to the vw garage and they look for you or do you normally have to book inmight clean the sensors first just in case
binliner 0
I would phone VW or a local VW specialist and get it checked... where r u?
briscoe 0
near st helens
Atlas 12v 0
If the ABS isn't working it means it's in safety mode. Basically you will still have breaks but no ABS. This is normally due to a failing Sensor. As stated Vag-Com or a 1552 will tell which one is failing, they cost about quid and are fairly easy to change.
briscoe 0
i need to go to vw and get i plugged ingoing to go today on my dinner hour
stu h 0
just dont believe them when they tell you it'll cost seven grand to fix!!!just take the diagnostic info away and try to find a specialist mate. you'll more than likely get stung at vw.
briscoe 0
ive seen vag coms on ebay but all say obd11 1996 onwards and therefore wont fit mine will it?they also say obd2 port?[ Edited Wed Mar 16 2005, 12:32PM ]
malcolm 0
Think you can buy a convertor cable that lets you connect to old port, try vag.com site
stu h 0
i'd put a post on as many forums as you can ie. www.edition38.com www.clubgti.co.uk etc and see if anyone knows a VAG specialist local to you. a specialist will know more, wont charge the earth if you find a good one. and they have usually seen every problem a million times over! briscoe 0
does it allow you access the abs, so i can find out which sensors are broken
briscoe 0
On pump; DE 358 614 217 [60] ref; 10-0447-0723 3On ECU: ATE ref; 10 0501 0206 3got these numbers for new parts so will they fit a 1992 k reg vr6
stu h 0
are you just going to change the pump and the ecu then?
stu h 0
and vag com will tell you what / where the fault is.
briscoe 0
the numbers above are for parts i have found, how do i know if they will fit, do i check them against mine?
Atlas 12v 0
So have you actually had it checked or are you just assuming it maybe the Pump or ECU. Because that will be a costly assumption when the most common fault will be the sensors and I gaurentee your problem will be this...
stu h 0
I'm with him ^^ (no gaurantees tho!)you should just check for the part numbers on the bits from your car and the replacement bits you have. just check they match.
briscoe 0
the reason for the part questions is because i was offered a working pump and ecu for 50£ so was wondering whether to buy it just in case
Zonda_ 0
I have exactly the same problem mate, although other things have been in the queue first. When I get round to it I'll put new sensors on mine, it's been stood for nearly 2 years so there's bound to be corrosion. My advice is start with the cheapest things i.e. sensors and work up, don't go spending £50 on something you may not need.
