poll250 0
Hi guys, Bit of a strange question I'll admint: I've been running my Stealth Racing VRT since April/May last year without any problems. It's got a 2.5" exhaust with 2 silencers and not cat, and a 4" intake with the original inlet manifold. The car is ballistic, but my problem is that really miss the VR induction roar. Is there any way to change or get some induction sound on a VRT? After 9 months of daily use, it just seems so bland in comparison!Any ideas would be great....
rodney 17
what air filter are you running?
spadam 7
I think once the vr is turbo'd it does lose the vr sound. must people say the same thing.
craggsy 91
It is one if the downsides
cabrioman 6
id agree with that but you do get BOOST ..... and lots of it lol
Andi 0
It's tje same thing with my supercharged vr6. It's lost the induction sound. But its gained a mental exhaust note !
VIW28 29
Sounds like you've no screamer pipe mate, or not enough boost lol. That more than makes up for the VR rohr!
FishWick 21
Short runners are even worse. Just sounds like a bland old euro box and not even 6 cylinder! You should still get a bit of VR6 induction noise in a high gear, high load, low rpm before the turbo spools up though? A mate's Corrado with a GT30 on it + stock intake certainly did. craggsy 91
I still hear the V6 roar in the R32
FishWick 21
And what a noise that is :-) Mine's decatted and I've got the metallic raspy resonance most R32 owners complain about, but I love it :-)The fix is another silencer / resonator, or a cat (lol) but nah, I like the noise! Now it just screams.
craggsy 91
Mines decatted and non res miltek so sounds great
Andi 0
Turbo charged motors tend to be a bit quieter than Supercharged or NA motors. Mine can drone on a bit with the decatted Miltek.
spadam 7
I want that noise u talk about on my 4motion but they never sound quite the same as an r32
Lukey. 381
strange when subaru flat fours and volvo T5 engines dont lose their engine sound and it gets better with an exhaust
cabrioman 6
best noise i got was from my charged vr with a one silencer 3" system hmmmmm sounded good but the quest for more boost and a seized charger got in the way lol
matty.vrt 120
I has a vr6 turbo with the standard inlet mani and it had a beutiful vr6 burble before it came into boost. Now with a short runner and screamer pipe it makes a different sound all together 😃, but I'm deffo not complaining.
FishWick 21
strange when subaru flat fours and volvo T5 engines dont lose their engine sound and it gets better with an exhaustIsn't that because flat 4 and 5 cyl engines get their noise from the firing order? Straight 4 and 6s tend to sound bland without induction tuning.
Lukey. 381
yea forgot the VR engine uses a straight 6 firing order
