I use to use Castrol Magnetec 10/40 as found the VW shizzle was a tad thin! Link to post Share on other sites

Runs and eats well on the VR. If I was to take the Charger off, Id go back too Magnetec 10/40.Had some Red oil from them, but found that burned more compared to the Valvoline.But hey its up to you pal. cbmotorsport 0 Posted November 13, 2011 Report Share Posted November 13, 2011 just my 2 cents, when searched using reg no, Allparts automotive recommended using castrol edge 5w30 oil, expensive, but its what i put in mine and havent had any problems, a friend also runs it in his ( and it does get abuse) and hes also had no problems. badger Link to post Share on other sites

Lukey. 381 Posted November 21, 2011 Report Share Posted November 21, 2011 personally wouldnt do an oil flush, but if you do get forte theyre the best.if you want your VR to burn oil like a ford by all means fill her up with 5w30, just remember to top up with like 200ml every week lol Link to post Share on other sites
