oldmandon 1
I've been looking at Bora's for a friend of mine (yes I like them too, but keeping my VR thank you very much), and came across a 2.8 V6 4Motion. What baffled me was that the Bora with it's 2.8 engine (just a quick note...same as our vr's!!!) puts out 204bhp???!!!! How and What is different to produce that much more power? Would the Bora engine fit in the VR.....Just a possible upgrade which could then be given the tune up.....

oldmandon 1
OK, so its a 24v head, could this be fitted to a vr motor? or could you retro fit the engine?

VR6Pete 1,455
One of the most restrictive parts of the VR6 12v is the head, if you can afford it, invest in the schrick big valve head
bungy 2
The 2.8 24v engines designate AUE and BDE have heads that are not compatible with the 12v engines although the block is very similar and can be made to fit fairly easily. The plastic inlet has long and short paths and a flap valve to direct between the 2 very much like a schrick. The 24v heads were designed by Cosworth and flow very well. If you are going high power F/I some think it is better to stick with the 12v lump and make it bullet prove for high psi. The restriction for the 24v lump is the plastic inlet which probably won't take much more than 1bar (14.5 psi). This can be swapped out for an aluminium short runner. I think that is all correct but i'm no expert.
