my mate was telling me i should geta bigger throttle body to help breathing release a bit of power is this possible? can i fit a corrado throttle body??

its a 97 vr6 btw so its obdII?

any little cheap mods i can do to release a bit of power? ive got an induction kit, 6 branch manifold and de-cat what else can i do???

I wouldn't mess with OBD2 throttle bodies. They are £350 from VW if you mess it up! You can't enlarge the throttle plate either, which is where the gains come from. Polishing alone does nothing as the throttle hole is still the same size.

OBD2 has servo motor idle control, so none of the OBD1 throttles will fit (different stud pattern) or work with the ECU.

The head is the biggest restriction. Look at cams and bigger valves if you can afford it. There are no cheap tweaks for the VR sadly....

If you can get a Corrado G60 gearbox for pennies and know a mate who can build transmissions, fit the G60's final drive to your VR box. Honestly, that alone makes more difference to accceleration than cams, throttles and breathing work put together.

thanks for the info! maybe i'll make the best of what ive got then! lol

what about induction kits whats the owners recommendation??? ive got a shitty universal cone filter atm!
