Has anyone else's rear brakes frozen up

mine did yesterday and no word of a lie i pissed on them as i was going to be late picking my daughter up from childcare and i was parked in the middle of no where, the hardest thing was stoping mid-flow to run to the otherside lol, did it work NO so probally was the cable so i pissed on my car for no reason haha

I've just tried to move the car again' date=' i dont think its my brakes that have frozen i think its my hand brake cable.

how can i sort this out?

Mine has done the same best thing is 2 leave car in gear with hand brake off if poss over nite when really cold!

I did that on saturday mate, and its still frozen :(

I really need to use the car tomorrow :(

Yeah i heard that aswell mate but the only thing is i cant go anywhere coz the rear wheels arn't moving and the front wheels are on ice. so all i do is really cool burnout (just without the smoke) lol

LOL Try boiling the kettle and throw it all over the back brakes with the handbrake off but in gear!!! Sound like your havin a nitemare were are its not that bad down in the southwest.:-d

the problem is the cables freeze to their guides!! where the cable runs from the caliper then in to the car!! there is a cover on them but tey perish and the any moisture freezes the cables in their tubes!!

U need to get heat on these if u want the hand break to become free! if not wait untill the air temp gets to the +'s

mines exact same! its stuck miles away cos it wont move, stuck on about an inch of ice! i thought it was the calliper seizing cos the mk2's had a prob with that didnt they? hope it is iced up, worth a try. got heat gun, extension cable, pry bar and a hammer, and im gonna have to knock on some randoms door to use their plug socket lol! wish me luck!
