Miss-Vw 2 Posted June 19, 2009 Report Share Posted June 19, 2009 So this morning at 8:45am, I was driving to work and had my first ever collision. Stuck behind some old woman in a P reg Vauxhall at a roundabout, she pulled off because it was clear, so I followed. Looking to my right as I pulled away to double check and WHAM. Stupid cow stalled her car and my poor VR is looking a bit worse for wear now I should've been looking in front but I suppose these things happen. Not too much damage to be honest. The morette style plastic moulding round my headlight was completely smashed and fell off, the right indicator lense is crunched and hanging off and my bonnet has an ever so slight bulge (about a cm, if that) which you can only notice if you look at the side, there's also a small dent on the front lip of the bonnet about 4 inches wide, not deep luckily. Luckily golf's are built like tanks, this woman's vauxhall had a nice big dent and a crack in her back bumper but apparently she was taking it to the brakers yard anyway that morning (convieniently...) because she's just got a new car, so she's not claiming and like hell I am.Just annoying more than anything, the fact that I have to find a panel beater who can straighten my bonnet back out and spend even moooore money! Glad there isn't much damage, good job she isn't claiming either.People stall cars though, that doesn't make them stupid. I've stalled the VR....when stationary and screwing about...(not in traffic).
