acf8181 0
in my mind its more logical to get a custom remap...i mean, every engine will be slightly different in characteristics won't it?
antera309 3
These "off-the-shelf" chips were popular in the '90s, less so now because people realised that they were a waste of money. On a non-turbo car, all they do is disable the over-run cutoff, which improves throttle response a little bit, giving the "illusion" of more BHP, at the expense of fuel economy. On a turbo'd car, fitting an off-the-shelf chip can be dangerous to the engine. There were many Sierra Cosworths blown up in the '90s through using these things.Go for a custom remap instead.
