Cuske 0
I was on the phone to storm earlier today and they were caning vortechs on their reliability. Is this to persuade me to buy rotrex or are they genuinely duff?

Lizard Racing 0
Storm have got a few shot Vortechs and G laders removed from customers cars due to them being over revved, not pretty. To be honest the Rotrex charger setups are only a couple hundred quid more than a Vortech setup and I know which I preferred! It will all depend on whether you want a fast car or very very fast car.Alex
VR6Pete 1,455
I've never come across any reliability issues with vortech chargers in my 4 - 5 years of being part of this club.
FishWick 21
I was on the phone to storm earlier today and they were caning vortechs on their reliability. Is this to persuade me to buy rotrex or are they genuinely duff? That is very unprofessional. I considered going for a Rotrex a few years ago and I got the same Vortech bashing from Andy at Storm too. I don't do business with people like that.I had no problems with my Vortech and I sold it to Eat this and he's not had any problems either.Strom basically tried to extract boost from a V9 that it wasn't capable of delivering, and destroyed it. They then blamed their incompetence on Vortech.
rodney 17
Just to echo the comments from above. If you run and operate them within their design specs and maintain them correctly. They work well and are relaible.there are always people who have bad experiences with any items. If you are talking to companies then dont forget stealth and the Phirm.Always speak to 3 m8.As said do you want a very fast car or a vey very fast car? Do you want to build it in stages???There are many people running both solutions with zero issues. So dont be afraid of the V Just so you know I have a VF9 and it is good quality and works..... Lizard Racing 0
Just to clear things up about what Andy has said about the reliabilty of the Vortechs. The BELT is the part of the setup that has the issues not the chargers themselves. This is caused by the lack of a sprung tensioner and causing the belt to be too tight!I can back this up because I had an alternator fail due to the belt being so tight! MK2R32 0
12psi of boost on a V9 is about its maximum it can handle. Any more and the bearing will start to break up.
