ebmurray 0
Hi all,Just giving the old VR a service. I got all the parts from a VW Dealership. When got them all home the oil filter was wrong! (have manage to get the right one now) Was just wondering if anyone knew much about the Quantem after market parts as I'm a little worried about the HT leads they have supplied me aswell. There are 7 leads in the pack and they are black. Where does the 7th one go???
DundeeDub 0
the 7th one will be a short one, right??the lead set you have got is for the dizzy models and not the coil pack model which i am guessing you have

VRmonster 1
i got some black beru ones from avs i think, and all the leads were present, including king lead (dizzy). but they just wont fit right, theyre all coiled up and bunched at the distributor. tut. dont know if ive been given a coilpack set, then theyve added me a kinglead in the box, he he. they work well though.[ Edited Sat Oct 09 2004, 05:11PM ]
acf8181 0
yep, vw black ones are too long really. i think they cost a lot less than the red ones tho, but aren't as good quality. i may be wrong tho.
ebmurray 0
HT's all fitted. The 7th went in the bin!! All seems ok, (Lucky for the VW dealership!) there were 3 that were about an inch too long. This isn't causing any problems at the distr. end. They were 10 quid cheaper. Red next time for me though!!! VR6Steve 0
There are 2 different types. I ordered a set and they almost supplied me 5 red and one black. They ordered the right one for me though.Just specify when you order what you want, so they hopefully get the right ones for you.

acf8181 0
not sure about early vr6's, but '98's deffo came with red as standard...saw a brand new one years ago. only thing i can remember about when i looked under the bonnet...thought it was weird to have red leads.
