VR6Pete 1,455
Christmas is finally around the corner for me, god knows I've been behaving like one this last couple weeks with the date getting ever closer, Next Monday is MOT day for the mk2VR6, then to Stealth for 4-wheel alignment, then the 9th Ultimate Dubs. 15th March - my birthday!! then onwards to the ring on the 21st!so a first packed first month for the VR6 and owner....'d just like to thank everyone who originally donated money to the rebuild of my car, there are now there are various members on here that now own part of my mk2 I've wasted practically nothing from the mk3 though, including the petrol tank, and the petrol that was in there! and I would also like to thank everyone on here, and mk2vr6.com for the help and support since January as the project went into super nova and really started to take shape. THANKYOU! From This:To This:Pete

mike 6
glad to hear your happy mate, not to put a downer on it, but slightly worried you wont have much experience in driving the mk2 vr before takin it around the ring?
cadguy77 0
i'm sure past experience will tell Pete to be wary of the Green Hell.Good work Pete, glad it's come together nicely for ya. What other plans do you have for it?
VR6Pete 1,455
I'm not going the 'ring to get some blistering times. I just want get the car home, so I can spray it and fit the charger but I will be doing at least 60 miles a day in the VR up until the ring to iron out any issues (that's my primary concern over my driving!) Got my G60 arches and new skirts, new badges to go on before ultimate dubs, but really my plans are to make it look like a standard GTI externally(apart from 5 stud and 312mm brakes!), take those tints off too and just generally tidy it up a bit more.got my 4 point harnesees to go in, but in all honesty, will fit those after I get back from the ring...Pete

l1_lbk 0
how did you go about getting your car back? was there a big cost for them to get you off the ring?
VR6Pete 1,455
my break down covered getting the car back to the uk, and more importantly, my garage, cost me 1.5k in damages and recovery from the ring.
l1_lbk 0
Thats not good but it not bad if you get me, i was under the impression it big money if you crashed on the ring. But back to the thread, hope all goes well with car and good luck with visit to the ring
VR6Pete 1,455
cheers fella, looking forward to next week.my 2 new samco radiator pipes have arrived today, and my new HT leads are in the post tomorrow, so should be all ready for MOT. quite confident it will pass, so i've booked it in at Stealth for a 4 wheel alignment / shock setup etc... and a power run for old times sake, and to see if she's ready to take on the ring, and now all this talk of pizza there, it's going to be a fantastic outing.
