Lizard Racing 0
I feel that might car is just too heavy at the moment so Im thinking of removing all my leather and interior out and putting my carbon/kevlar buckets in.Have any of you stripped your cars to make the car lighter? Last time I rolled over the weigh bridge It weighed 1370kgs including my weight! I know its a Highline and 5 door but trying to accelerate all its extra baggage is frustrating me.Its only putting on weight too after adding the huge discs and charger and other little bits Im probably pushing 1400kgs now. Please will somebody inspire me to loose weight. How easy is it to loose 200kgs from a VR? Im not talking about drilling holes or removing bolts just seatbelts, interior carpet stereo etc.Who has the lightest VR?
twin twotone turbos 0
I have stripped out many cars over the years to lose weight, mainly for Santapod and other strips. In my opinion if you add up all the bits you have removed they dont really amount to alot. Replace glass with plastic was the last thing i done and depending on how far you want to go or how much you want to spend. What are you using it for. Everyday or recreational.Plastic, fibreglass, carbon fibre and titanium is the way to go. You lighten all your nuts and bolts with titanium but it is not cheap. Alot of stuff will be custom made. If you want it go for it. Try a diet to start with :-p

Lizard Racing 0
Wow that is extreme, have you weighed it yet?I just want to know if its worth doing, all or nothing. On the weighbridge tonight with me and £10 of fuel mine was 880kg front axle 510kgs rear making a total of 1390kgs! Buzzark 0
Looking at your specs in the signature, you'll probably just get less traction by lightening it!Removing the seats etc will probably save you about 25kg if you're putting a couple of lighter seats back. l1_lbk 0
Didnt even think about getting it weighed.
Ciaran 4
it ain't worth it recon you could remove all unnecessary parts and it would still weigh 1200kg at least. it will only go realy light if u do the carbon fibre bonnet boot doors wings and perspex windows thing.
