fitted a 3.8 bar pressure reg

Recommended Posts

wow, it has made a big difference to my throttle response, and i can honestly say that i havent noticed any overfuelling, but have noticed that its doesnt tail off at around 6k, it pulls cleany to the limiter, and very hard from 3800-4000 .

ive got the part number if anyone wants it, and it was only 20 quid inc vat from vauxhall.

:)

rolling road to follow with before and after..

aswad, you also have a superCHARGER..........

mark i'll take some pics at the weekend.

jester, tbh it's better on a car with mods, but it depends on the car/engine. mine needed the extra fuel high up (as per my rr session) , i was gonna go for the 4bar unit but , didnt want to spend the extra 20 quid. and 3.8 to 4 bar on a n/a car isn't gonna notice.

my mods are as per my sig .

All you've done is increase fuel flow 12%. The lambda will take all that out in closed loop conditions and in open loop, you're probably a shade too rich because a zorst and flter does not require 12% more fuel.

A remap would give better results as you haven't touched the timing to do anything with the extra fuel.

yeah i no the fuel pressure has been bumped up. but on my car their was a noticable dip at the top end, fuelling wise it is perhaps overkill, but it does seem to be working well, and it will have a another rr sesssion to see how rich its running if at all.

i prefer my cars to run a tad rich, its a rule of thumb ive followed with all my turbo and n/a cars. and one to which i stick.

yes a remap would be better, more refined , but with the vr6 ecu a remap with exhaust and filter mods is not worth it i.m.h.o.

on my last 200sx, i did all the mapping with a friend of mine in live conditions, but that was with a car that had a much more intelligent ecu. and a wideband lambda , etc.

i do have other mods planned, so for the time being i can live with it, as its not a daily driver any more.

as i said at the top of the thread, its a cheap way to get more fuelling, and will work with varying sucsess on different cars, and it may not be worth it on all cars.

i supose its not to indifferent to how your car was fuelled early on in your turbo conversion, a little crude but still worked fine.

but point taken.

btw, none of the above is a dig at you, although it may read that way.

:)
