descb600f 0 Posted May 16, 2007 Report Share Posted May 16, 2007 Going to do the chains soon and have been told the easiest way to do this is to take the engine out.How long is it to take the engine out.Have access to a ramp and decent tool kit so should be no problems.Als what parts do i need is there a list of all the parts I need so I can buy before im half way thru the job and missing a tensioner or something stupid? Here are the parts you need, which is also in the guide too Parts RequiredThe timing chain replacement kit, available from VW Parts Counters, GSF, ECP etc. consists of the following parts:- Upper chain ( OBD1=021 109 503 A , OBD2=021 109 503 D )- Lower chain ( 021 109 465 B )- Upper chain guide ( 021 109 513 )- Lower chain guide ( 021 109 469 )- Upper chain tensioner rail ( OBD1=021 109 509 A , OBD2=021 109 509 E )- Upper chain tensioner bolt ( OBD1=021 109 507 A , OBD2=021 109 507 B )- Lower chain tensioner assembly (021 109 467 ) Link to post Share on other sites
