How happy am I :) (until I get the bill &| )

Hopefully get up to collect her from Vince on Saturday after almost 2 months without her.

Can't wait. See if I have enough pennies left over to get some rubber on the TT rims. Fingers crossed.

:):):):):):)

Big thanks again to Vince for looking after her. :D

How excited am I......

Well you probably remember me telling you that "we" virtually rebuilt the engine when the cams went in and the chains were done.

Well, from then on it did not start very well and then it started producing clouds of blue smoke on start up.

We had a word with Vince at the RR Day and he said he thought something had gone wrong in the head. He has proved himself correct, to the extent that the head has been replaced. (The cause of which I am happy to say was not us) :-(

Also had an uprated engine mount fitted too.

Waiting to find out how much its all going to cost.

Still at least its going to be right.

I got the figure today. The TT rims will probably stay in store for a while without rubber. &|

Not to mention the Polo's insurance is due at the end of the month and the renewal is just under £500. :(

Still only 2 more days of school before I get her back. ;)

Well if you really want to know....

40k service

Front engine mount

Replacement head and rebuild

Thermostat housing and seal

Couple of other minor bits and pieces.....

Just over £1300

Starting is still not brilliant, but Vince reckons thats due to the Kent Cams.

Wouldn't say it drives that much different, though I have not really driven it in anger as the Mrs was followging in my Polo GTi, so I didn't want her to trash it trying to keep up. LOL :-)

The main thing is it don't smoke, which was my main concern.
