My Trip To Stealth Racing.

Recommended Posts

I arrived at 9:00am after setting off at 7am. Vince had pre-arranged to get my schrick inlet manifold re-machined up so that it doesnt stick.

The Schrick went back on and Vince mapped the Dastek ECU up.

RR Figures:

Before: 201.0 BHP // 192.0 lb ft (feb 04)

After: 210.8BHP // 205.4 lb ft

The car has been completely transformed yet again!

Vince has also saved me the cost of an ABS Pump and ECU today, the reason why my ABS ECU wasn?t communicating with the VAG-COM was because the grey diagnostic cable wasn?t connected up in my fuse box!

As soon as he connected that up, the ABS ECU sprung into action on the VAG-COM software, the fault, a left speed sensor, which has now been ordered.

Had my polished put on too apart from the strut brace, need another engine mount for that and have 10mm shaved off to stop the throttle body hitting the brace.

Vince also pointed out that my top suspension mount were shot and my rear axel bushes needed replacing very soon.

A well worth trip to stealth, and a BIG THANKYOU goes out to Vince and his guys at stealth racing!

yep, that was bottom line figure.

the part is only £7 anyway, but the timing sync was out also.. the big bulk was getting the Dastek fitted.... you just need to take off cam cover, remove sprockets on the cams, and its just one bolt. you can see if it's ok or not just by removin the cam cover

Chargers and dasteks don't mix too well according to my information as their fueling parameters are too restricted.

Correct. If you wanted to use a Dastek with an SC, you have to start with a system that is 'over-fueling' first and then use the Dastek to 'lean' the fueling back out - so you could either raise the fuel pressure, or install bigger injectors... Its not that good at adding extra fuel to a system that would already be pushed to its limit. it only has a ~20% tuning window - whereas a charger requires over 50%.
