Jk* 0
Yep, thats right, im kinda lucky to still be in one piece and so is the car. A couple of weeks ago the front left went bang @ 45mph and had to fit the space saver. The inner wall just blew out. Then today on the way back from Bristol doing approximately 70mph The o/s front went bang...i managed to slow the car down and get it to the hard shoulder. Then put my trusty Space Saver on again, by this time it was 5.00, so i managed to crawl along the M5 to Exeter and get GUPA-P to fit a matching Falken tyre...But i feel very lucky! (If you know what i mean)
Earwig 89
Sounds like you have been pretty unlucky m8. Or lucky ? Whichever way you want to look at it :-)What make of tyres were they ? Were they in need of replacing anyway ?Must have been a pretty scary thing ! Especially at 70 !Mark.
Jk* 0
Some cheapo tyres, they all had really good tread on them so i was a little gutted, especially as im trying to save for my respray, but hey...the car is ok and so am i!
dellert 0
Are they the correct speed rating for your car? My ring would have clenched right up when that one went at 70mph!!!
petervr6 0
Are they the correct speed rating for your car? My ring would have clenched right up when that one went at 70mph!!! LOL.both tyres blow out from the inside? have you had the alignment camber checked recently as i see alot of cars wearing so much onb the inside that they pop.just a though of what could have caused it. Jk* 0
The tyres had the correct ratings, camber, tracking and balancing had been done recently. It wasnt through wear, just two very poorly made tires according to the chap in GUPA-P. So now i have two new tires!
Earwig 89
I have never skimped on Tyres.I always get the best ones :-)Mark.

antera309 3
EXACTLY the same thing hapenned to me last month. Two blowouts, nsf then osf about a week apart. Failure of the inner sidewall both times. The only difference was that I was lucky and both happened at low speed. It turns out that my tyres had been rubbing against the inner arch at full lock (patches of underseal on the inner arches had worn off, giving the game away!)Chances are the same thing is hapenning on your car. I take it you have wider-than-standard wheels fitted, yeah? Take a look inside your front arches and look for signs of rubbing.Assuming it is the same problem, we can work together on trying to find a solution. Denting the inner arches does not work (tried that - they're too strong) so I'm currently looking at spacers...
Jk* 0
Um, maybe worth checking it out, i was told that the wheels i have on their arent made for that car as the spignot rings were the wrong sizes. They are only winter wheels, so looks like i might be changing them sooner than expected. :S
