MANIA 0
OK, call me old-fashioned, but why the hell would I want to put tyres on my car that just beg curbs to come up and take great big hunks out of my brand new BBS'es?http://www.eurotek-online.com/news/news-details.php?news_ID=88Why would I want to halve the amount of grip I get in the wet?Why would I want to spend all that extra dosh on awesome super-wide rims and then stick pathetic little 165/50's on them? Please explain, coz my old head hurts thinking about this one. Jk* 0
Im in the same opinion about this, my mate has a 328 bmw pushing near on 240bhp...but he has fitted the stretch look tyres too. I cant understand it.
craggsy 91
Well if you runs 9s then you will need a thinner tyre to run it low as fatter ones will foul the arch

mike 6
agreed that wheel just begs to be curbd in the pic, dont like it at all... slight stetching does look good tho, but not that!
antera309 3
I'm no fan of stretched tyres either. I'm a function above form kinda guy.A slight stretch can help with arch clearance when fitting wide wheels (hence allowing you to go lower), but the example above is going way too far. Stretching the tyres that much is not even safe - I have heard some real horror stories over on the Edition 38 forums.

Earwig 89
I think they look good but only if they are not stretched to far.I have seen some that just look plain ridiculous. You need to find a good Balance to get the look just perfect :-)Mark.
Mk1dubzter 0
only way forward with dished rims imo... heres my new aquisition with the wrong size tyre....too much tyrethe image in the picture portays a stretch on a 7.5x15 wheel with a tyre that gave no problem going on and is used all round the vw scene...I have run those tyres on different 7.5 rims and they all look different. The problem that owen had on Edition38 was not checking his tyre pressure and letting it go down really low...thats why his tyre let go.Never had a problem with a tyre on a stretch coming off a rim ..to be honest most stretched tyres have to be fitted using a "cheetah" which blows out the sidewalls to the rim edge....allowingthe tyre to seal..Euro look is now commonplace in the UK too... antera309 3
only way to go for the right phat rims people This is how it should be done. The stretch on PHM's tyres looks just right - not overdone at all.
