infact its about july 1995 cant rember the date exactly . but the loop hole is that you have to beable to read the engine code . how it works is you carry out what is called a bet test on cars after 8/92 if it fails to put in car details ie make, model and the all important engine code ! you have to see the engine code with you own eyes . if you cant find it you have to carry out a non cat test . my car was registered 06/95 and it falls into this loop hole . your car would still be non cat test because of the age of it . but also if you had a 2000 rangerover v8 and you put an old v8 on carbs in it and you could prove the age of the engine it would infact be non cat test .

ive found this but im sure they have changed it since this . on monday i will look fon the computer . http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/repository/7.3%20Emmissions%20-%20Spark%20Ignition%20-%20Passenger%20Cars%201992-2002.pdf#xml=http://www.vosa.gov.uk/SCRIPTS/texis.exe/webinator/search/xml.txt?query=emissions++&pr=CORP&order=r&cq=&id=4606021321
