  1. Can't see it causing a problem, you will need to drain the oil and I'd put the gearlever into a forward plane (like any of 1st, 3rd, 5th gears) so it lifts the shaft 8 up a little. I can't guarantee any of the selector levers will drop - they shouldn't but you never know. Alternatively, just release the bolts a few threads, good solvent clean and get some sealer in there - with the oil drained.
  2. I'm sure that's the lower support for the selector tower shaft, item 25, doesn't show a seal on the diagram though but thought there was an 'O' ring on it, a red one 25mm or so.... but stand corrected on that - it's sealed with the 'sealing paste' AMV18820003. There's certainly an 'O'ring on each of the bolted tabs by it, they're 14mm dia and on the diagram as no 27.
  3. VW Heritage have them listed but available on backorder only, they're the cheapest new priced @ £62 ish: https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/1h0853986-cover-trim-for-the-sill-panel-rear-right.html https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/1H0853985-cover-trim-for-the-sill-panel-rear-left.html There's the end cap for each side (£10 each) if they've gone too, and a black rivet for each. VW Parts International had them listed on the eBay shop they have, but sold out at mo, they were £77 a side. Second hand good ones are scarce, there's some sellers in Latvia (but not used
  4. Hi, I've copied the parts listing images for you, VR6 twin downpipe, TT early single downpipe to twin cats, so it's a sort of opposite to what you need, so can't fit, and bolts up to a turbo. The 3.2 TT does have a twin downpipe to twin cats and centre pipe, so might fit? They must be similar to V6 4mo Golf IV although I don't think the pic shows the downpipe properly. There must be bits around from breaker V6TT to try . . . .
  5. Doesn't the Neuspeed chip move the rev limiter to 7k, that seems to be a familiar bit of memory coming back.
  6. There's a few sites that have ended up as quiet as this, usually just prior they end up with a small core of enthusiasts - but there's not really any evidence of that here even. It's still a great resource, and now the cars are almost / just about getting proper classic status it could help grow the knowledge in keeping one well. I'm a returning owner, the last one I had was in 2004/5 or so (and didn't join at the time, did this even exist?), so had bought one to use for summer - but that's turned into a restoration really, a car sitting for some years - although no rot, is needing loads doing
