I have a 1.8t oem bosch one fitted to mine. I fitted at the same time as the supercharger, so I don't know what runs like without one! -
No probs mate

Hi, i'm using piper 264's with my supercharged set up at 6psi and it's been great for the 3 years I've had it supercharged. Although i fitted the cams before the charger so I don't know what gains you'll get going from the standard cams to schimmels. I have heard that the 263's work well with forced induction though mate

I might use one ive just read up there a requirement on a supercharged car using a maf.it makes sense at idle the maf can only read the air between maf and throttle body which would be a dead head which inturn can make it run rich as the maf isnt reading a flow.if i fit a recirculating one the maf can then read a flow at idle.Bugger means altering pipework not too hard i suppose.any recommendations for a recirculating type? I can pipe in between outlet and throttle body for valve and pipe from valve to a joint i have at inlet of charger
I used a genuine vw one(bosch) from the 1.8t engine or buy a forge one if you want bling lol -

So am i im crapping it as i never run my vr hard.no big mods just a 2.9 inlet and throttle body and the charger.im hoping for nearly 240
We had a 'guess gaz's horsepower game' at work before it went for mapping!! Lol
You will need to run it hard after, as they dont make 6psi till about 6000-6500rpm!! -
Cheers mate i suppose old wiring prone to corrosion but i totally forgot i had issues before fitting charger.at least now i can see o2 moving on vcds.disconnect maf it cuts out same with throttle switch it cuts out so ecu must be using them.so far so good
Good stuff!!
I'm interested to see what power it makes -

I'm assuming u haven't got your original chip?

Mines a 4bar pump and reg and when at stealth the fuel pressure maxed out 3.5bar. I had changed both the year before so 3.5 sounds about right. Try fitting a 3bar reg from a later engine?
-
They're in the states aren't they? Is it set up for uk fuel? I doubt it would make much difference to the idle but you never know. Also have you checked the blue temp sensor?

Vince is brilliant mate, it would be well worth the trip. If you have the bigger injectors already why not get a smaller pulley and up the boost? You may aswell

Did you plan on having it dyno'd?
So at least you can see how it's running mixture wise?? You need it setting up properly really mate. -
Yeah im nowhere near 8psi its a zr1 shell and zr1 impeller with a cogged pulley to stop slippage the vr has a 4 bar fpr as standard i maybe jumped the gun by fitting larger injectors.yeah maf is nearly a metre away from charger
Is the chip for standard injectors or the uprated ones? -
It could be. Don't forget these chargers aren't making boost at idle and if you were running 8-9psi you would need those injectors anyway. It's either the chip or you have an issue elsewhere. Is the maf far enough away from the inlet of the charger?

Can you drive Vrt without map to get it mapped?

I wouldn't of thought so with bigger maf and injectors on standard map/ecu.
I would send the ecu to the tuners to get a base map on it, then you can drive it there for final adjustments on dyno.
