-
you going to do bushes or you thinking of getting shot of them and lines??
-
lol, aye, its even more tempting now as I can get it for peanuts...but I should get stuck in with vr6 really, don't need another money pit,but to be fair it only needs head gasket done......nah think I'll sort vr first,,,gotta get rear beam bushes, don't know whether to go for urathane ones or standard, anyone got any hints on that and are they a pig to replace/remove??also mate is gunna weld sills for me soon,so should have a mot in few weeks,,

My sills will probably have to be completely replaced they've had years of small repairs done badly (admittedly some by me) now they have collapsed in at the front and I think the rear would follow suit if I offered up a jack to them!
The sunroof drain pipes had split in mine causing the headlining to sag down and letting water run down the A pillar straight into the foot wells. My heater matrix is ok just a shame the blowers don't work
Heater matrix is a complete dash removal job I'm assuming?
yup,all gota come out,for a 5 minute job in total!!!..my sill are real bad, outers not to bad but inners are shot!!.my headlining is the same, but not from sunroof splitting drain tubes, just old age..so needs work, just put a stainless downpipe on last night and paid £80 for 2 new gti bottom arms(which I was told would fit)and found out they don't!!(they don't have the brackets for the anti roll bar drop links),so have a pair for sale if anyone wants them!!.haha..I'm toying with getting a 8 valve gti that's down the road from me,but like vr6's so I don't know....i really SHOULDN'T get the gti but its nice,,and solid!!!

hiya bb,hope your good..my mate Barclay who sorted me the gti airbox bits is looking for a vr6 one for me,but thought id ask ,just to be nosey like!,how much you'd want for yours??..do you have a maf sensor and/or plug??any ideas/leads/crisp £20 notes send em my way chap.thanks.
-
ever helpful as usual..nice one bb,,yes that's right it has 2 clips on vr6 maf, okie doke,...its hard to suss as its been bodged (the maf plug has been cut and soldered wires on to maf 'plug'!!)so need a plug and possibly a complete maf sensor,(that gti one obviously wont go on)what a waste huh!!!
-
sweet, rather you than me doing all that work but its character building I guess..will be nice when done, keep us informed
-

yep, cheers bb,but its not that simple unfortunately as the maf sensor is a different type to the one on there.its the metal type,I have the plastic type on mine at the mo,which is also 4 wire, the gti is 3 wire,.i need to see a pic of bog standard vr6 so I can see what a obd1 type maf sensor is like, also are all obd1 sensors 4 wire ...i ve been top the airbox stuff I same as gti,but it seems not unless I have different parts/set up on mine...groan!!!!
-
Hmmm, reading that back its obvious the 3 wire maf plug wont work!!..pmsl!!but I've been sent a gti 8 valve full airbox, maf sensor and plug..I know the airbox fits but will the maf body and inlet tube fit on my obd1 6?????or is it best to leave k+n on it??
-
-
hi all, need a pic of a obd1 airbox top and maf/inlet tube please if anyone can help.converting over to standard and do you think I can find a pic!!!!.also is gti maf the same??(I have 4 wires from vr6 maf plug, gti has 3,)can it be made to work??any advice/pic very much appreciated ..
