any ideas where i can get a new nipple......?
or what thread it is would help alot, also a suggestion how to get the piece left back out....
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=375211
looks like this in the first post.

So, the plan is to remove the manifold i spent time putting on yesterday, fix the nipple back on with jb weld, once that is dry ill then coat it in some hight temp rtv sealent to stop any vac leaks through the welds, ill also probably lengthen the vac pipe so it sits at a deeper angle to put less stress on the welded joint, sound like a plan?

Retford near Nottingham mate.....
-
And as luck would have it I have some jb weld in my box!
-
Jb weld not h&b weld!!! Damn iphone
-
Fitted my newly polished manifold today, all hunky dory until I the realised the nipple from the fuel pressure regulator into the manifold is missing, as in sheared off.....anyone any thoughts on reattachment of the vacuum line? It's sheared near enough flat with the manifold, slight lip left but not enough to attach the hose. Was thinking some h&b weld or similar?

I actually had the original tool still attached to my bonnet stay, didn't look before and assumed it would be gone. Happy days.
-
What's the offset on those?
-
although cant help thinking a modified coat hanger wire would work the same....
Actually thinking about it, my intake manifold is coming off anyway, so therefore doesnt it make it an easier access to remove the leads without pulling the wire, i.e you can actually get to the base of the lead, or does this not happen?
-
Hmmh, just got to find somewhere local that sells them then, i have loads of pliers but not any of them
-
yeah looks like i will be using something similar.
-
was thinking proper bodge style and using a coathanger with a hook modified on to un pull the base without touching the wire.....
-
Firing order of the ht leads put back in the wrong sequence?
-
Anyone have a blue peter version they use for this, wanting to add to my mulberry by doing a service tomorrow whilst im replacing the manifold, dont have a ht lead tool to hand though and i cant see me being able to get one for tomorrow so in true car mechanic creativity does anyone use anything else to remove?

What is the reason for the rear upgrade? extra stopping power or looks? to me the rear upgrade is not worth the hassle or cost, fronts is a different matter altogether.

Yours looks good as it stands mate.
I need to learn how to use a machine polisher as the paint on mine is shocking. There's no rust at all but the paint is awful, looks like it's had a blow over at some point too.
Mulberry is by far the best colour we got in the uk, I wish we got Ginster yellow thou fans I love that colour!
It does yeah but that has zero products, stripped bare with clay. It will look good when machined.
Thing is when the mrs sees me doing it she bugs me to do her mg zt 260!! That is a big beauty to paint correct!!

Rotary mate, scholl s17 with scholl spider pads. Yeah vw hard ish paint but the spider pad combo works well. It's all in the prep mind. Clay, tardis, polish, ipa, wax, seal. The mulberry should shine well with the richness of the colour. I have some menzerna polishes here aswell but the scholl is nicer to work with.

Yeah no scrubbing either, bit to do on her yet but it's coming along. Bodywork is immense on this, all I've done is clay barred so it's stripped bare as it stands. Ill machine polish it when I get a spare 8 hours:)

20mm adapters on 195/45
worked pretty much perfect, well after i had machined an extra 3mm off the adapter hub locator
-
nope, no lower mate, looks spot on as it is im not into the 'scene" where slammed cars is concerned.
Next up is the manifold fitting at some point
-
nah mate, wrong adapters!
progress.....had to reshape a bent abs ring on the drivers side before i could get the wheels on....anyway their on

Right, got a few things on the agenda. No photos in this update at the minute i'm afraid though!
Managed to locate the peice of under body trim by the rear bumper after a chance find on eBay. Still working on the highline wooden gearknob. I used some clear wood varnish but the finish was very soft and milky, looking for a better lacquer to protect it.
Also received another cd player in the post today. Went for an old skool Sony head unit which is much more in keeping with the era of the car. Ideally i'd like to retrofit the Nokia dsp audio system, but can't seem to find them over here, only in Germany. Someone please point me in the direction of the setup if you see it though
Plan on sound proofing under the rear bench still, waiting for some more dynamat after I stupidly threw the box away with it still in there. And i'm also still trying to secure a highline centre console, i've let 3 slip through my fingers now!
Will have my days off from work next week so stay tuned for some more updates then. I'll be at Gti International tomorrow so hope to see some of you guys there then, i'll be on the club stand
great choice on the old sony unit, good to see enhancements in keeping with the standard and age of the car;)

Its all done mate, as i said the tool was on my bonnet stay, didnt bother checking as i assumed a 18 year old car would have that missing....but such is the goodness of this one it was there!!
