I've seen an ex 4mo six potted engine fitted to a beetle for sale on eBay a few months back and can't help but think the wiring would be more compatible in that set up. Nothing is impossible though I guess! I look forward to following your progress.

Yep, worth keeping the secondary water pump on jay, anything that helps keep the car a bit cooler helps!

I can recommend the eibachs, I've got them on mine and its stiffened it up a treat. As Cook says, corner weight set up would be fantastic but I reckon you need to be into an expensive set to get the adjustments required for dampening, bound and rebound etc. eibachs or h&r arbs will be cheap and very useable by comparison. Also a 4 wheel alignment and camber adjustment will work wonders.
