updated add - second batch now available for some people that missed out on the first or didnt see the post , iv kept the origional add below
Hi all i hope this is ok to post on here
after owning my vr for 7 years and going through three coil packs i thought id adapt the same idea as my phenolic inlet manifold gasket to the coil pack to help protect it and prolong the life of it
iv had the idea for a while and decided to get this sorted as there are non available to buy in the uk
its a 6mm pacer cut plate with four new allen head bolts to fit directly to the car , it sits on the side of the engine and in between the coil pack to stop the metal to metal contacting and transfaring heat which in return after time is what makes them crack causing misfires and bad running
iv already sold a few but have about nine left but could get some more done if there is demand for them
id like 25 pounds for one posted
coil packs are pretty expensive these days for a decent one and if your like me then your probably sick of them cracking
you can pm me on messenger if you would like one or have any questions

Im running a v9f with a bosch valve as well
Seems fine but i did do some reading and you can use the 007 or the forge splitter valve if you want more noise apparently
I thing the bosch ones are ok up to 8psi and then anything over your best off upgrading -
Messaged you mate if you havent recieved it my number is 07980690184 you can give me a text

That's impressive figures for n/a, I have a r/r printout for 201bhp
It was high for na , 230.2 was the figure
the camber was out though and according to jon it can male a difference on the rollers but its been set up now and ran a few thousand miles
just changed to fully synth oil to so it should all be performing at its max and hopefully good numbers
i think anything over 200 is good na , iv put a fair amount in to get that figure like

Hoping to hit 230 n/a again , daubt it though

Will do mate im using a mk4 metal head gasket so the compression ratio is different , we have agreed at 150 very steady miles then ill travell the other 150 down to stealth for its map

Cheers man , yea the schrick starts pulling at about 1500 to 4000 but then runs out of breath , hopefully with the cams coming in at 4 to thd limit and the big port throttle it should be ok , im only raising the limiter to a very safe point as i dont want to shag the valves up , just ordered the new ina tappets today so they will get submerged in oil for a few weeks before they get fitted
-
Thanks for the info i did read that actually , i font think they will give a warremty unless you buy new tappets aswell !
As for the rev limiter its staying on so i can run standard springs and tappets as i read that upgraded springs cause a lot more wear on valvetrain , ill be runnng a schrick and big port throttle aswell so hopefully wont need to rev that high , ill be down at stealth next weekend so can always ask them then

Thanks mate iv managed to get pages down to around 70 quid but im not sure if thats with or without stupid vat , im going to use new ones now iv decided as i really dont want to have to touch the engine again for a good fea years or more !
-
Also ill add that the cams are used with about 15,000 miles on them

Hi all I've got a rebuilt head minus lifters and I've also got a set of 268 cams going in , question is should I use new lifters or use the old ones .
The lifters have done around 115,000 miles
If I do need new lifters I'd like to use ina ones so where's the best / cheapest place to get them ?
Ebay sell them for 76 quid for 12
Any advice apriciated

Haha thats ace , i stuck my rocker cover through the house one ! And the chain covers and a few other bits , ideally you do not want to be running it with dishwasher salt
-

check my post about the phenolic coilpack spacer !! heat is why they crack and vr6's run hot
if you get a new coil pack i can supply you with a phenolic spacer that should safeguard your coil pack
