    my alarm keyfob button is on its way out, its a meta alarm. ive looked for a replacement from the manufacturer and found that they dont make it anymore, just wondering if there is a universal type that can be programed or another make that can be programed to it ????

    does the vr6 have a duel mass flywheel as standard?? im only asking as i cant remember if the previous owner of mine said it had a g60 flywheel or standard. im looking at a clutch on ebay and its for a vr6 and seller says it fits g60 flywheel, i know its stupid but i just want to make sure lol might aswell do the clutch when i do the chains.

    my fav mod will be whatever i do to mine myself for the first time, bought it with coilovers and s/s miltek so havent done anything myself yet. i do want induction kit, s/s manifold and some lumpy cams lol

    on my first vw and i jumped in at the deep end with a vr highline,owned it about 9 months and absolutly love it!! its funny how a plain looking old golf still gets so many looks, maybe because its heard before its seen lol. im 23 and have already had my fair share of cars but hopfully this ones here to stay

    im not that bad with a welder/grinder so i suppose it might not be that bad, its the rest of bodywork im no good with like filler and paint lol. i think my sill are solid although it is starting to go at the bottom of the wings and i have got a small bubble coming up on the rear arch. gonna have to wait for the warmer, dryer weather to come about before i tackle this. is there any other structural points that tend to go or is it all hit and miss???

    i noticed the otherday that my front chassis legs and jacking points are all stoved in obviously due to poor positioning of ramp legs/jacks, also my sill lips are bent. anyway car passed mot but since then i had a closer look and my underseal has bubbled and i found some small holes, im wondering if its something i can do or is it better to go to bodyshop for something like this . . . . . . .or is it THE END OF THE LINE for my vr, please dont let it be the latter lol :-(

    i had to go to a vw main dealer the other day in Abridge for some parts and was rather surprised with just how good looking the showroom was not to mention the two lovely looking women that were at the front desk , completly forgot what i was there for when i saw what new metal was on sale then i realised i had to sort out an mot failed golf lol. anyone else seen or been in a surprisingly nice dealers lately??

    sorry to jump in but i see you mentioned obd2 only primes when cranking, when i turn my ignition on i can hear a pump in the tank running is that not the primer pump?? mines a 98

    on my way back from machine mart today, sitting in traffic and a black vr6 pulled up right behind me at southbury rd. looked quite clean unlike mine, anyone on here???

    pretty sure mine sucked up a quarter of a tank on the small drive to GSF today, definitly that 'Driving' thing haha. might try leaving the display on mpg like you say

    looking at a few sets of wheels at the mo, one are a set of 16 x 9j keskins just wondering if i would need any archwork for such a width??

    cheers guys just thought it was strange for it not to have one, guess il have to get hold of one somehow woodyman haha. has anyone on here got one who might be in north london or there abouts that could plug it in and check it over??

    quick question guys, i got a 98 vr6 and i havent once seen the engine light, just pulled the dash out to see if the bulb is there etc but even having a close look at the face of the dash i cant see any engine check light. the light i have at the bottom are coolant, fog, oil, battery, handbrake, brake wear and seat belt. i see engine light on other mk3s but cant find mine lol

    need a bit of help!! my vr was once an auto and is now manual but the reverse light are not wired up i had a quick look on the net and didnt find much so was hoping if someone could shed some light in this for me, what plug can i wire it up to or do i go from the fuse box etc ???? help plz lol cheers
