  1. No i aint had a proper look at it. Were would the cracks be? I put some lucas injector cleaner in not long ago and filled it up with £30 worth of vpower
  2. Im having a slight missfire when the engine is hot (normal operating temp) it happens at 1100k revs but other than that its fine. Revs all the way. I fitted new timing chains and guides before fitting the engine in. I have new sparkies waiting at home to be fitted toms morning. So my next thing is to fill the tank up with some v power juice (like i have been) so next question is redex, wynns fuel cleaner or does anyone have another one thats does a better job?
  3. thanks for that link. I think i should stick with the recomended sparkie. No point getting the upgrade one as its just the platinum range? and works out more.
  4. This is the thing. I dont know what happens with colder plugs. Do they work better when the engine is hot?
  5. Whats the benefit of this lukey?
  6. Thanks for that. But whats this issue about running colder plugs? Everyone knows that the vr's get hot VERY quick.
  7. Just for info. How do you change the shifter without taking the whole mech out? Is it same as the rado? Cut abit of the top by the shifter? A picture guide will help alot. I am also interested in this but i dont have time to take the exhaust off and what not. I dont mind doing it from the inside. P.s this is for the mk3 golf thanks
  8. Right ive been searching to find out which spark plugs you guys run on your vr but its not leading me anywere. The only mod the engine has is a 2.9 inlet and a lightened flywheel i will be slapping on an airfilter or smooth & drill (butcher) the air box in a few weeks, just purely for noise more BHP is a bonus but that most likely WONT happen. I love hearing my vr on full throttle as everyone else does on this forum. The NGK website states i need BKR5EKU or BKR5EKUP. I take it as the P stands for platinum? Also a few people on here mentioned about the number in the model number of the spar
  9. Dealer is the best place to get new relays. I had this problem and it turned out to be the ecu relay. But that was on my 8v gti.
  10. EDITED: Try a new ecu RELAY. Do you hear the fuel pump prime when it does this? If not then replace the fuel relay aswell.
  11. Could anyone tell me were the negative cable from the battery goes. Does it go to the starter motor or on the gearbox bell housing? Also were does the alternator negative cable go? Does it go to the gearbox bell housing or the starter motor? when i originaly done it, i put both of the cables on the starter motor and then we took them off a few days ago and now we put the battery neg on the starter and the alternator neg cable on the gearbox housing were the black cable holder is and now the battery light stays on. So we did some fiddling. If the alternator cable is not connected the battery li
  12. this is what i ment in the 1st post. Thanks!
  13. I have a yuasa (think thats spelt right) from my 8v gti now its in my vr. Its been on and off for 3 weeks now. What i have learnt is that when you dont use the car for a week disconnect the battery to save it from killing it. It might not be right for you but thats what i have done with my mk4 1.8t other thing to take into mind is that most of these branded battery leaders have had a caee opened againg them for wrong advetising the battery power. They have been labeling more power than what the battery gives. Yuasa is the only one who got the closest power results.
  14. No the fans are normal. This loom is from a ac mk3. And mine dont have ac. The loom has 4 wires. 2 of them are green/red we used the thin green/red wire. Do we need to bridge both green/red wires together?
  15. I had the 4 pin rad fan loom but the twin fans i have put on are 3 pin so we cut the connector off and wired it up as 3pin. Now the fans aint kicking in nor is the aux water pump. Either as the car is only started and not driven on the road or there is a problem. Now i want to know if the plug has been wired in right [img width=736 height=981]http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn458/shako786/20140622_144501_zpsllfmnqvg.jpg also there is 2 red/green wires. We used the thin red/green wire not the thick one. could someone confirm if its connected up right
