  1. cheers,

im prety chuffed with the way it turned out, finnaly got the remote central locking wired in, lol im still nervous about locking the car just incase it doesnt open! as i still need to re tumble the boot lid key to match my ignition and for some reason none of my keys fit the boot lid lock!, but it locks n unlocks everytime!

also brought a new battery the otherday , as mine is god knows how old,

has made a massive improvment in the way it starts up!

started makeing a vdo gauge surround,

    DSC00892.jpg

i have the original casstte holder so i removed it and used its surround to cut out a template on the old mk2 golf bonnet i got for spares.

gona either satin black it or trim it in faux black leather, still waiting on the engine wireing loom for the conversion :(

  2. does look good ^

yea im expecting abit of welding and cutting, its actualy for my corrado not golf but someone on the corrado forum said that mk3 seats fit in , you just sit a little higher, iv just got to make that decision on wether to try n make them fit or not, either way i would have to buy cloth replacement seats for the audi so i can sell it on,

  3. hi guys, got an absolute bargain of an audi A3 1.6 with 98k on the clock with mint black leather seats for £200!! it has a fkd gearbox, but just wandering has anybody converted these seats to mk3? work out alright?

  4. iv done this on my corrado, i re located them into the headlamp replaceing the high beam bulb {well i thought it was the highbeam}

where im from we dont have MOT so i wasnr bothered, i originaly thought that i would be looseing high beam but that isnt the case, i still have a high beam and my lights are still as bright as before, also the indicators work fine at night with the lights on at the same time,

prety simple to fit, iv since replaced the amber bulbs for the clear bulbs

  5. well finnaly got my drivers door fitted the other day, realy happy with it its almost perfect!, ran into 2 hold ups,

    first hold up was i sanded through the clear coat as i was trying to remove an imperfection, so had to completley scuff the whole door, re base that area and re clear the door, second hold up , after i closed the door a few times ,my diy tapered stud {the one with the nut welded on top } popped off the latch ,so i had to remove it {strip door back down} and add abit more of a taper ,after 30 harsh slams i can safely say the stud aint going anywhere ;) {pics to come}

on to the remote central locking which a m8 is helping with the wireing .

    no need for a locksmith.

after abit of cutting and fileing its time to swap blades, ;)

hopefully its not raining tomo, dieing to go for a drive :)

    DSC00887.jpg

  6. me to luke :)

hopefully should have the door back on by late sunday or monday,

right now just wetsanding all the dust nibs out ,

start with 1500 then work up to 2500 then buff up to gloss,

    takes me ages :(

    DSC00864.jpg

    DSC00869.jpg

photos look flawless but doesnt pick up the dust nibs which will sand out and absolute treat..

  7. started drivers side the other day , heres some pics,

    old shoddy n dodgey!

    DSC00853.jpg

    getting it sqaure

    DSC00854.jpg

    cut on the inside lines!

    DSC00855.jpg

then you get the mechanism working ! far easier then when its all welded up, the space is very limited!

  8. cheers' date=' cant work out why its leaking into the passenger footwell?? surely if blocked water would back up and fill the sunroof hole up?[/b']

well i noticed on my mk3 theres plastic trim peices which come down the pillar of the windscreen , im prety sure if they werent plastic they would be absolutley soaking wet , the only water i can trace back on mine is a few droplets going up by the bonnet release , i think the drain got blocked and its overflowed down that palstic trim peice and into my footwell, i used an airline to blast down the drain pipe seems ok now, just need the carpet to dry up..but if your suspecting the window to be letting it in, just remove all the trims around the window and inspect the glue from there,

  9. thanks ash :)

yea exaclty the same paint i used on the door is on the inlet aswell,

i keyed it up good and its a fairly solid plastic with no flex , it was already painted by the factory so it already had some sort of plastic adhesion promoter so im not worried about it failing it should hold up good,

just cant wait to get my loom back!!

heres the stuff, these guys are awesome!!

  10. lol may or may not be related but its been raining heavely this past couple of days and got in my car this morning to find the drivers foot well flooded!!! i think iv found the cause! blocked sun roof drain!!! and my sun roof seal is perished badly aswell!, you can check the drain by opening the sunroof and looking into the sunroof area from outside in each front corner your see a hole , my drivers side was blocked with some sort of weed, they exit in the front door shut by the hinge,

  11. u pol 2k 3:1 highbuild primer

still need to do drivers side but i'll drive it for a few weeks before i tackle that side.

  12. another unlucky thing that happened to me in my last corrado was i got caught speeding by a unmarked police car on the way to my mates in spalding. it was a red skoda oktavia he got me doing averageing 111mph in a 60 then follewed me and got me doing 125mph in a 50 only thought i was doing about 80mph so got ban for 6 months lol. but yes the golf is a more pactical and the corrados are nice i would still love a corrado vr6 in white.but not after my bad luck i wont own another one.

125mph in a 50 zone? i dont get how thats unlucky that you got caught?

  13. yea useing the 02a vr box,

havent been able to do anything except clean the engine up ,as i found out last month that the guy doing my loom

cant do anything untill june!! and he has 15 other looms to do before mine!,

so iv found another guy that can do it mid april, but hes never done a 24v into mk3/mk2 before but he is a vw/audi tech that specializes in g60's and has been given all the relevant info from john to do it, http://www.onlychargeddubs.co.uk/ so shouldnt be a problem,

iv sourced a 24v dp for £25.00 deliverd! and also have a spare 12v dp to play with aswell :)

should have my ecu back from united motorsports some time this comming week too!

so glad i didnt start stripping the front off the corrado! so anybody even thinking about doing an engine conversion

get your loom sorted and in your hands before you strip out your old motor! unless your circumstances arent like mine,

in the mean time my doors need painting , iv allways had a fancy for audi door handles so why not!

brought some draper chains for engine cranes but wasnt big enough :(

so i made up something useing a 2ft scaffold pole ,x2 wishbone bolts, and the draper crane chain cut in half ,

just tapped a thread for the wishbone bolt to hold the chain.

    DSC00775.jpg

bit of strapping , which i doubled up and welded together

    DSC00776.jpg

and voila! well chuffed with it! just tapp it with a hammer until its centered :)

    DSC00782.jpg

so far , new water pump {plastic impeller to metal} , valve cover gasket, and thats about it,

    DSC00780.jpg

    hello A6 door handles :)

    DSC00792.jpg

i even have a key for the drivers barrel, but have come to the conclusion that you cant get it to work

as for it to clear the window half of the barrel needs to go! gutted :(

    DSC00791.jpg

this is prety much what the linkage will look like , iv got it working on my m8s old knackerd door,

    DSC00818.jpg

and this is prety much the finished position of it, had a spirit level along the bottom edge of the handle {not the metal edge cut out which isnt square with anything} and its perfectly square with the lower swage line on the door so im happy with that,

    DSC00817.jpg

should have this welded in soon!
