  1. Small update the charger has now been taken off and sold So going to tidy up the engine bay a little bit and a few bits to finish on the dash then it should be back on the road Will update pic's asap
  2. Your be fine mate just keep at it Worse case mate if you get really stuck let me know and we might be able to work somthing out, long as your not to far away
  3. Also since your putting new disks on the back might be worth changing the wheels bearings as well they cost about £7 a side and the are only taper bearings so you don't need to press them in
  4. Also if you toll the lump out by sub frame you would of saved yourself alot of work If you get stuck later give me a call and I'll talk you through it
  5. I forgot you where having a vento front in that case the vr headlight loom will be plug and play One the rack above the red white arrow there is a big rubber (bulkhead to the rack) pull that off and inside you will see the 2 nuts I said about that's all you need to take off
  6. Just below the uj as it goes into the bulkhead there is a connecting bar (2 10mm nuts) then push the other side out then the rack side will pull out of the column. The pas pump is on the engine but as your takeing it out from the subframe the rack & pipes will stay in the same place. It will come out in 1 part
  7. Looking good mate Although the powersteering pipes dident need to be disconnected
  8. Don't think a bora would work as the front end is a mix of mk3 and mk4 parts Bonnet: is mk3 but with washer jets removed and differnt cut outs for mk4 headlights Wings: mk3 with mk4 headlight cut outs and longer on the bottom than a standard mk3 wing Bumper: looks like a mk4 but different dimensions So bora wont be a stright swap The only thing that will swap stright onto a mk4 is the headlights everything else is differnt
  9. If you get any problems mate just drop me a pm and I'll take you through it
  10. 2.0 is rod change as well mate so it will still be the same Wiring is 90% plug and play
  11. Wow for once your right Rodgers I missed that in first post Vento front will need to change a front panel etc as well Also you will loose your Line to tie the rear bumper in Vento fronts normally work better on the mk3s But I would like to be proved wrong lol
  12. I'm a auto sparky so it was pretty simple lol Do you have a complete vr donor car I just swapped the complete loom over but I had to mod the headlight loom and washer bottle plug To do the subframe swap disconnect the front end (rad front panel etc) and remove it all The disconnect the exhaust, water pipes to heater matrix, gear linkage etc Disconnect the front brake lines and top mounts The the steering rack u joint to the steering column Then hook your engine crane up to the engine remove the front cross member (4 bolts, 2 eaither side at the front) Then the 8 bolts that hold the main subf
  13. If you get any problems mate let me know and I'll talk you through it I did mine in a day pretty much Also it's much easier just to swap the engine and subframe all in 1 go then you can use all the vr hubs brakes etc Have a look in my build thread mate I took a few pics when i did mine
  14. Looking mate and nice to see another VR6 cabriolet coming to club
  15. Mostly fitted now it's 90% there Just a few things to tidy up and it will be there
  16. Had a couple of hours spare today so I removed the old dash Wired up the clocks (sort of) And just placed the top of the dash to see what needs tobe modded or removed
  17. Went on a little trip today to pick this up Think it will freshen up the inside of the car nicely
  18. First trail fit it still needs abit of trimming but its getting there Also colour code the rest of the strips
  19. Made a start fitting my us rubstrip today A lot easier said then done lol I got one side lined up only to notice it was to short So the plan is was to cut the extra out of my old one and extend the us one Pic of one side lined up Pic of extra bit glass fiberd in place So the plan is to start rubbing it down tomorrow add a bit of filter and away I go I'm also in the process of colour coding the rub strips all round
  20. The seat runners are the same (well you have to swap the wheels over) then all you have todo is get the front fixing bracket from a mk4 floor and mount it in the mk3 I've done a few mk4 seats in a mk3 they can be done in around 3 hours
  21. It will be crap on yours mate Prob best of you sell it to me
  22. Its probably not the alternator but always best to check If you go to any local garage or a Halfords they should to a free battery check
