Im from falkirk. The FK1 is my post code I bought the car from a guy in Inverness so....spent yesterday at my mates bit swapping his coils for my FK's and ended up with my shaft popping out the cv so spent today fixing that and freeing off the coils. The rears turned into a nightmare but the fronts were sound currently about 16 coils down at the front(around 35mm)and 20mm lower at the rear its rubbing a bit over bumps and turning but soon as I get the bentleys on and get rid of the mahoosive 215/45s I can drop it a bit more

3 wheels split, ding worked, sealant removed, tyre bead sealing areas prepped 12v - I bought the rado from a guy in the ness got some coils on it and tyres to go on some wheels but waiting on adaptors and a session tomorrow sorting a seperated cv and some seized donkey coils

had a spare half hour today, the top lip was the dinged lip although not completely finished fixing the ding yet

go to your nearest screwfix outlet... buy a pack of M12 stainless steel washers for @£3.80 use four per bolt(theyre 1.5mm thick) job done.... there is no need to spread the load with a full length spacer
-
easy fix extra bonus bein autostradas come with factory stainless bolts nuts are 10mm single hex so ill give them a quick polish and get them zinc plated before rebuilding them or just fit some new double hex nuts when I rebuild. Almost definately going to become occasional use wheels as I can swap the speedline tyres onto these when needed

k20 bottom end 13.5 comp, cams, top end coils and track set up,dyno'd at 240 k20 bottom end, edelbrock turbo set up,full cage, track based coils dyno'd on wastegate pressure at 402hp running in b18 bottom ended cars x a few all running 200 horse in a far lighter car.....and all mostly in standard looking civics and all regular track day attendees should also have said these are mainly alphabet soup ones( eg/k?)theres a few newer first of the proper wedge shaped(ep?) running superchargers and mid 300 brake as well

its not all good news... its a long road...........

ive quite a few civic driving mates, most of which would embarass a normal vr6,some that would seriously embarass charged vr's so I give them healthy respect usually but you do get the odd dreamer that thinks his standard vtec is going to kick in and decimate all hahaha

bungy ive still got a pedal like a slightly firm pillow but just havent had a chance to redleed them yet although the bite at the botom is improving. I dont do much braking so im having to force myself to brake more often to get them fully bedded in. Took trips to a couple vw meets in the evenings just to get more miles on them but im hoping to get them bled again early next week to see if there is more air or its just taking a while to bed them in

Ford boys getting their knickers in a twist
dubbed_up_daz replied to Ben Seabrook's topic in General Chat
Ive had a mk1 fiesta in the past and would rock a mk1 or 2 escort or even a phase 1 rs T or 1600i but id modify the sh1t out of it,leave it parked in the street and have a queue of ford fan boys organising a lynching outside my flat..... There are blinker wearers and there are smashed about the skull storm shutter equipped minds but out of the jdm squad, the vw crew ,the italian jobbies and the ford flanges the ford boys stand out as utter nonsense gibbering idiots. PF is like club gti times vortex, its obvious that the ford view is the only opinion that matters.....and damned be those pesky cro -
Ford boys getting their knickers in a twist

completely missing the point it was built for a laugh which is completely understandable coming from pf ford fan boys need to loosen their sphincters,Complaining about driveability when the only reason half their cars are still surviving is due to a steady diet of garage sleepovers and a far larger proportion of show ponied trailer living toys to the vw show goers. Despite the repeated bs about clone cars running bbs's and self harming emo hippies any ford shows ive attended are over populated by line upon line of impersonal concourse deviants where its frowned upon to even change the colour o -
My mk1 would destroy a vr mk2 but its hardly standard A standard kr converted mk1 against a mk2 VR would be an interesting run though. My old mk1 1.8gti as standard would stay in front of a vr until about 80-90 but that was my brothers mk3 and you pull till 40 then about even then 80-90 the vr reels you in and keeps going. Im pretty sure against a mk2 vr it would only have been close to @60 then the mk2 would be gone on a quarter mile a decent mk2 vr against a standard mk1 gti the mk2 will pull a couple of seconds by the end

its just a photoshop but... shouldnt be far off,the new wheels will take a bit of turning round, undecided on what colour centres to go for but bbs satin gold is high on the list. swapped the porsche dials and got the new autostradas,a 90mm lip spoiler and 150 quid so fairly happy with the days work
-
is it a standard mk1 gti? and is he on glue?
-
swapped my teledials for phone dials

sorry I dont know if the four motion cars rears are different but the rears are the same as any fwd mk4 platform car and possibly some polo platform cars so far im not astounded with the brakes, ran the swap like usual and bled as I went, pedal still felt like you were standing on a pillow, bled the abs and master as recommended and its better but still id consider it as a step back from the previous 280 fr pumped rears so theres obv still bleeding to be done. Going to run it as is for a week then flush the whole system(anyone got a loan of a right leg? )and re-bleed top to bottom

crappy old brakes shiny better new brakes, still to repaint the og carriers but cleaned them up ready loads of room, wish id held out for the R32 set up I wanted
