  1. Not a major problem, but definately keep an eye on it. If you can check compression in all cyclinders. Its probably your valve stem seals or piston rings worn or both. Burning oil is you cars way of asking you politley for a rebuild
  2. In motorsport small amounts of tyre stretch can fundamentally change the dynamics of the tyre properties, it can alter the slip angle due to the sidewall being in a greater amount of tension, and in the hands of a very sound driver this can be manipulated to better control the car, in the hands of a lesser prepared driver can result in very unstable cornering. Cant say i'm a great fan of it on the road but i can see where people come from! Can look quite cool at the right angle.
  3. I would also want some info regarding the same as above, I have an obd1 throttle body, but seem to be running a coilpack...? So what engine do I have? Is this due to the changeover being 95 and I have a 95 n reg car? Thanks
  4. Does that solution rely on the radiator fan switch working? Basically bypassing the module only so that when the temp of the coolant in the radiator reaches the 'fast setting' temperature it will kick in regardless of whether the fan module works or not? Sorry, I have a very vague understanding of this cooling system. Need to read up me thinks.
  5. I have encountered problems lately regarding the fan where the fast speed setting does not work, first the fan module and then the radiator thermo switch. Now, I would like to completely bypass both, and run a live fused feed to a two setting switch in the dash, probably by taking the power from the rear window demistor as this is next to where I wanted to mount the switch, with two settings, slow and fast, where I can operate the fan manually when stuck in traffic etc. Is this possible? I have come to the understanding that maybe the fan module runs the auxillary water pump too? Is this cau
  6. It isnt so much just getting clogged up but certain circumstances cause the cat to collapse on the inside, if u look down the cat pipe the platinum 'cardboard' should sit flat. This also causes a reduction in horsepower. Definately worth checking.
  7. Do both the bottom and top water pipes get hot coming to and from the radiator? If you disconnect the radiator temperature switch do the fans still run?
  8. Hi Guys, Only the slow speed setting for my fan works (discovered with the old paper clip across the fan switch connector) and this is very bad when sat in traffic because i think the slow speed cuts out when the fast speed is supposed to kick in, leaving me with no air flow to the radiator, now does anybody know if it is a complete radiator fan renewal or is there just a motor module i can buy? or even better can it be repaired if anybody has had this problem before? Thanks Craig
