  1. Interesting I got hold of another cat to do this with, and spent a whole day trying to smash the stuff out of the middle. Even poured thinners in and set it on fire, and that didn't work haha! It seemed to be like a tight roll of metal sheet lol! Anyway, ended up doing this instead: Just need to add a length of 2.25" pipe to it and boom! Didn't have to pay anything I'm such a cheapskate.

  3. Ok, so this thread is for people who've used Nos, not people who think they know about it. I've had so much shite spouted at me by people who have never actually used it! Basically, I want to do it for as cheap as possible. Quite fancied doing direct port, but that needs to be a wet system so that's more messing about. The option appealing to me at the moment is a dry system, before the MAF, which will apparently trick the MAF into chucking more fuel in? Does that sound about right? So, talk to me about your experiences, and what you've used etc Ollie

    Ok, so i've just been informed Vpower is now £1.40.9 at my local shell, and will probably be at £1.49.9 at the station closest to the motorway. Is anyone else making the switch to normal unleaded? Or already have? I'm seriously considering it, as it's getting a touch pricey to even limp the old 2.8 around at the moment lol! Ollie

  12. Evening all! Bit of a funny one. When my fuel goes below the last white line before the red on the gauge, and I decide to come off a private roundabout at a more than leisurely pace, or accelerate whilst turning slightly, it's as if the engines being starved of fuel... It accelerates, then hesitates, then goes again once its settled out. Now, is this something normal? Anyone else experienced or fixed this? Ta, Ollie

  14. afternoon chaps, just a quicky. basically the pulley on my tensioner seized the other day, and i'm brassic :-| so dont want to pay out for one lol! my friend has just wapped a supercharger on his R32 though so doesnt need his tensioner anymore, and has said i can have it for free if it'll fit, sooooo will it fit? cheers
  15. fixed the leak with the new crack pipe yeah, pretty sure it's not the thermostat as the fans kick in, but is that all i do to check the water pump? Just see if it's trickling from that pipe into the expansion pot?
  16. yup, everythings back together right. Well, it's impossible to be put back wrong surely? It was running hot before i changed the crack pipe yeah, now it's running hotter sits just above 110, but if i have the heaters on, just under 110. Rather confusing, and annoying as i need to drive it to inters on saturday!
  17. well, it decked all the water the other day when the hose cracked off the crack pipe lol! and a couple of times the water level light has come on, so i guess so yeah. i forgot to point out, i've only had the car about 3 weeks, it's so far worked properly a total of 1 week
  18. Evening all An odd one for you... Got me an obd1 VR, that has run warm since i got it, at around 100 on the guage now due to a split in the crack pipe it was losing water, so when it got low on water this crept up to about 110. firstly the oil pump went (i say went, lets just say there was a dent in the sump next to the pump from the previous owner), so assumed that was why things were getting warm, but that got sorted and it still ran warm. then the other day the crack pipe popped completely, so changed that over the past few days, had a couple of problems bleeding it at first but all seems

  20. well, i've spent yet another day at it, and still no luck... getting rather tedious this pushing and hammering lol! i've tried wet and drying the water pump, even had a file on it at one point, and still not working! May have to be a new water pump i fricking need it for saturday for inters though!
