  1. i did notice i have more power at the wheels then they had a the fly new im happy with it (for now at least) gonna work on loosing some weight from the mk2 and better handling before the quest for more power,
  2. hey guys! was good to meet you all too im deffo up for a monthly meet and im sure others would tag along to. im happy with the venue aswell if you guys are
  3. thats what i kept saying to myself as he was mapping it, on the road it is completley different drive! im chuffed
  4. well went to stealth this morning, had a good drive down and back considering its a friday! Vince was very helpfull and full of knowledge as others had said. we got the car strapped down and it made.... 205bhp flywheel corrected 177bhp at the wheels. 198 lbft torque. i was hoping for the numbers to be a little higher but cant describe how different it is to drive!! is so much more responsive and eager to rev. also when not driving like a loon its much smoother and on/off throttle has also improved alot. so the verdict is smiles all round from me. i'd recomend stealth to anyone after todays vi
  5. yeah sounds good to me too! put some faces and cars to names
  6. thats some good info Kev! looks like its a numbers game then really, because it says 2.9 it must be better than 2.8 lol, i prefere the low down grunt over having to ring its neck all the time, makes for a much more refined drive
  7. cheers Kev, it supprising how a lot of people say the 2.9 stuff is better but there is not a lot of evidence to back it all up. if running FI then the 2.9 parts may prove there worth but im more interested in n/a comparrisons if there is any
  8. hi all, as the title really, everyone says the 2.9 tb and manifold is the better one to go for but i cant find any hard evidence on this?? if the 2.9 is better for power mayber the 2.8 is better for torque?? im interested in any info or input on this please Ash
  9. Kev im in at 9am i wanted the afternoon but im guessing your busy on the rollers around then Vince reckons a few hours to map mine, but he's done 100's before so im guessing might be a bit quicker. vr6pete, whens the rr day? prices etc? im guessing theres a thread somewhere?
  10. thats good to know! il leave mine without then as my heaters seem to be blowing alot warmer now aswell, changed the cams sensor pickup and all is good now thanks for all the help! cant wait for friday at stealth now
  11. would be interesting to know whos running with and without and what engine specs they have?
  12. the impellor was a mess with bits missing aswell, cant have helped flow very much!? have you had yours bypassed for a while kev? been reading up and most say its there for a reason and is needed others report no faults running with out? if yours manages with your boost my should be fine with only a remap and cams lol
  13. yeah suppose it was a good idea now i found this out!! also noticed my auxillary water pump was leakin around the bottom so had a look and it broke off in my hand!! the impellor was solid and wouldnt turn, ive just put a copper elbow in for the time being untill i can find a replacement!
  14. ordered 1 today kev, £9 looks like its moved and is whats causing my problem, pick up the parts tomorrow with a new bolt hopefully will sort it
  15. im guessing its the auxillary water pump running,
  16. some progress maybe! i think my cam sensor pick up/magnet has moved when removing the cam bolt, check these two pictures out, mine is the bottom picture these pictures are both at TDC so you can see mine has moved 10/15 degrees anticlockwise which would throw the cam sensor out? any thoughts on this or ideas??
  17. right ive checked timing and its spot on, but i can see some damage to the cam sensor pick up thats bolted to the cam sprocket, its chipped a bit of plastic off it exsposing the metal frame underneath, could this fool the camsensor into reading wrong?

    Mk2 vr

hi, the reason behind the hazard on dash is these cars have the early CE1 electrics, vr6's run on CE2 electrics the same as 90>mk2 golfs. this doesnt mean it cant be done tho! mine is ce1 and i pain someone £60 to modify the vr loom to my golf loom, plugged it in and fired up first time no problems at all!! as for the pedal box you need corrado or golf g60 the mk3 golf one doesnt fit im afraid. all the other stuff will do tho
  19. ok so ive just been out andf its thrown fault 0515 cam sensor again, when i timed the cams up i marked the chains and sprokets in 2 places on ech so i couldnt get them wrong, is there a chance the upper chain has moved a place on the bottom (middle) sproket? the cam sensor was new 2 months ago so dought its that.
  20. ive got a week to sort it and keep my eye on things, would rather he spend his time mapping it! cant wait to get it back from the remap will be a different animal i hope
  21. hi kev spoke to vinsce and we think its high enuff for the rollers, but good thinking on the tracking! might get it checked for the sake of 20 or so
  22. its about a hour 1/2 half away so not to far, as for fluids i thought as much really, common sense i suppose. ive just run vag com and it pulled a few faults, non of them worry me except cam position sensor and knock sensor codes, hoping this was just cos ive played with the timing when doing the cams but gonna nip it out in a bit to see if they show up again. they didnt when i reved the car on the drive so fingers crossed
  23. hi all as title really, taking my mk2 vr6 to stealth for a remap by Vince, ive just fitted some 268 cams and a 6 branch so thought it was time for the remap any body got any tips or advice before i head down to stealth?? does he do club discount to members lol cheers Ash
  24. was a month or so back, i emailed the uk address, could you pm the email address please?
