    nice one rabbit, il see what a rebuild costs at my local turbo builders and let you know. thing is that hoset hx40 is that much new!

    that looks more like it! are they any good? ive heard the name holset but thought they were more towards truck engine and alike? would deffo ease the budget tho at that price! as for manifolds are the ebay jobs a no no?

    cheers sharky, im quite handy witht the spanners but really new to the turbo game, and so not sure wheres best to buy bits from. just been looking at gt30's and 900 seems to be the ruff price, that seem right?

    yeah i know about the headspacer and bits but once this was running and was happy i could always up the psi and add the intercooler and head spacer then, or maybe i should just do it all in one hit? any advice on where to get a good priced garret gt3076r?

    Wipped it out the other day and it looks brand new!? Any other ideas? What slots on the ecu plug do the wires go to? Could test for continuity

    ok so ive just wired in the obd plug and run vag-com and it pulled up 2 faults 00515 Camshaft Position Sensor (Hall Effect Sensor) -Short to B+ (G40) : Check CMP, if OK, replace distributor and..... 02159 fuel pump relay open or ground. now im guessing the fuel pump realy is because im using a ce1 mk2 pump and loom converted to run the vr6 loom. Any ideas on the others? would cam sensor cause the described problems? was told it was new by the guy i bought the engine off?

    You can buy single leads! Might check that out thanks. I would borrow one but don't know any one in the area with a vr. I'm in ripley derbyshire if anyones local? As for the ecu, I'm running a manual box with auto ecu.

    Checked my leads for splits and one has split were it pushes onto the coilpack revealing the brass bit inside. Is this enough to cause the problem? Guessing I can't buy single leads either? As for the volcano ash, I've only had it running a week lol! The ecu engine and loom were from an auto, would this cause a problem? I'm gonna toch the battert cables together and clear the ecu, see if it helps

    Hi all recently got my mk2 vr'd and I love it! The best sounding car ever! Now my car starts idles and drives really well, but when crusing or pulling off at light throttle the car will stutter bog down then clear. It does this in all gears at any speed, its when you just lightly on the throttle. It doesn't feel like a miss fire but I've ordered some new plugs anyway. Oh and the car is a obd1 lump with coil pack. Any ideas? Throttle pot or coilpack related?

    hello all, ive just completed a mk2 vr6 conversion and im trying to get the rev counter working. ive seen the how to using the poles ontop of the coilpack and using resistors but my car doesnt have the poles??. its from a 95 passat vr6 auto. can i just tap into the wires in the plug goin to the coilpack? if so which ones? cheers
