    Morning all It's been far too long since my last post but those of you that remember and welcomed me joining I'm hoping won't mind helping out a fellow dubber in need I'm hoping to snap up a 4motion engine that has been rebored to 2.9L, gas flowed and has uprated clutch, pistons and new timing chain fitted. The seller on ebay says I will need the following to complete the install: 1) 4Motion Ecu with security removed, 2) Engine Loom 3) 4 motion inlet and exhaust manifolds 4) Injectors My query is which of the above 4motion parts if any would need to be modified to compliment a 2.9L 4motion

    Heartfelt thanks to everyone, you really look after your own ! Sadly she is done for as the chassis is badly bent on the drivers side . My only option is to strip n sell to fund a transplant into a mk3 gti shell ( I really want to stay in the 'family' eben if its in a different body ). Keeping my eyes open for a clean donor car with knackered engine / headgasket. My black leather interior will be listed for sale soon along with other bits of trim to help the funding. I just cant let that lump n gearbox go to waste... Here's to hoping....

    I know i would be up for helping out mate if there is any way it is fixable... id gladly donate a day of my time to helping you out... ive got a drivers side head light that would do the job too' date=' got a lil bit snapped off the inside but it works fine, well its still on my car at the mo, need to swap it for my new one, but you can have that for free.... if you've got the time and a tad of money then do some hunting and see what it is you need... im sure there's others out there willing to help, always good to have an excuse to get the gang together... :) [/quote'] Thanks Nat, much appr

    Ur a good man fella.. but u know wot its like, everybody got a million n one other probs to solve. panels would be good but theres some structural damage I m not sure about :^)

    lmao !! that mk2 is ridiculously tempting but whats the going rate for a transplant into something like that ??!! I would have stick it on a 6 month payment plan or something !! Any ideas on a local garage / storage ?

    Thanks for the support guys, ref the mk2 conversion I would love to but finances say otherwise. In an ideal world I'd declare it off road until I can afford to fix it or dump the lot in a 1990s sirrocco 8o| but dont have a garage so thats not happening :-(

    Thanks rodders, think I might take you up on the help thing. I'm stuck as insurers werent 'up to date' with the mods I'll pm later n see if we can formulate a plan. Gutted aint the word !!

    Needless to say I'm well gutted as the rest of the car is fine. To expensive to repair so goin on ebay for spares / donor conversion jobbie. Dont have tools, skills or garage else would have stripped it and sold off parts . VERY expensive lesson. Will start another thread soon in For Sale section with details of recent upgraded goodies for anyone interested in the car or number plate..... Shockin, not even lasted one year as a club member too ;( ;( ;(

    Was good to meet a few more faces today ' relatively' happy with the result, though surprised at the tranny / drag loss figure, a whopping 58 bhp :-( . Never mind, at least no faults or issues came up... 199.5 bhp @ 6040 rpm 181 lb ft @ 5040 rpm Air temp 27 degrees C y'all again, Good luck Nige n Chris, get rolling soon !!

    lol, no offence meant, if you read my first post again carefully I said I was trying to picture an 'alternative' contrast with a black VR as opposed to what you have. No worries anyway, us humans have a habit of misunderstanding each other :-d
