Hi, just had Dave's shift installed today and can't fault it! Top to bottom (3-4) is about 4.5 inches, slightly more effort as the pivot point has been raised. Install time about an hour, mostly trim removal and refit and a tiny bit of cutting.
The result is a lot less slop (I also installed these a few months ago http://www.verdictmotorsports.com/VW_Audi_Shift_Bracket_Bushings_p/0100.htm
which made a little difference, but this is another level!)
I can no longer wiggle the stick when it's in gear, it's tightened the whole gearbox feel. 11 out of 10!
Dave's fabrication is faultless, welds are spot on and as he mods oem parts there is no aftermarket fit issues.
I am sending my old one back tomorrow so another member can benefit from this mod.
    Regards

ssaunders got a reaction from Surreyvr6 in ABS module
Hi, it was a couple of years ago but i believe it was about £160'ish (mine only lit the ABS light) easy way to check the rears is VAG com, check which side is error'ing clear the fault and lift the rear seat, both the sensors connect here swap the left for right (and vice versa) recheck vag com and if the same side still errors its the controller, if the fault changes sides then likely the sensor.
Give BBA a call for pricing 01634 687222 their website says they keep some in stock (would need coding though). i would VAG com it first to get the correct part no. as well
    good luck

hi, there are hundreds of threads regarding the ABS light issues. it seems that a lot of VW/Audi's from about '93-'04 have the same problem with the actual controller (sits on top of the pump) i had the same and got my controller remanufactured by BBA reman (google it) about 2 years ago and no more problems. if you use another unit i believe you need to have it coded to your car.
    good luck

ssaunders got a reaction from Poriordan in Engine to manifold heat soak
Hi All, just got my schrick mani and before install I was after opinions on whether to coat the bottom of the mani and the top of the rocker with some heat shield like this
    http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/heat-shielding-protection/cool-it-adhesive-backed-heat-barrier
I have been looking at a phenolic spacer as well but can't find a good review of one anywhere, so for 20 odd quid is it worth it?
Other possibility is a ceramic coat like zircotec, can't find a shop local and it's quite pricey (also I want to fit as soon as ;-)
    Thanks for looking

Got this in mine, still think its a little lazy sub 3500k. Adding a schrick in the next few weeks for a little more low down oomph. Had remap @ stealth, cams without tune 195, 203 tuned so it pays to map.
Let us know which way you go and post some RR results.

263'a and a 3.68 final drive is where it's at. Totally changes the characteristics of the engine.
