    not sure of the reason, maybe there`s jigs or some special testing machine used. check the cost of a pro re build against a new turbo if you get it wrong. but maybe there is nothing special and its just labour that costs ???

    i know a few garages that do turbo conversions and they all send them to a turbo specialist to get rebuilt.

    50 bhp 100 bhp ect just the size of the jets that allow the nos into either air intake or directly into the port, nos gives a bigger bang in the cylinder and makes more power.

    turbo`s and gas go well, but gas alone,i wouldnt bother i did it with my old vr using 75 hp jets and it was poo.
