CALICO got a reaction from VR6 Supercharged in POST A SINGLE PIC OF YOUR CAR
You should get your own thread started. Looks good interesting that you have it all turbo'd up but so few posts have you any history of the making of it?

CALICO, is it an ARL? Which came with 150hp and a 6-speed?
My friend has an AGR 1.9 TDI tuned up to ~200hp. I also know a couple of people with tuned 1.9 / 2.5 / 3.0 TDIs via a group.
These engines are awesome, but yeah, you can easily spend a couple grands on the next stage

I run a 1.9tdi pd running 197 bhp after just a remap they can go up to 300 with extra grand's spent.

CALICO reacted to evanfred in Issues with ECM.. NEED HELP :(
Its a 1999 5 speed jetta VR6 (GLS I believe). I bought it used a few weeks ago.
But what I'm saying is that at cruising speed (say 65mph or 70mph in 5th gear on the highway) the motor remains at 4000 rpm. I don't think it's a matter of the gauge being broken because I can hear how high it's revving. And I feel like that is a lot of strain on the motor. Especially when traveling like that for an hour or two.
So that's why I wasn't sure about whether it was an ECU issue not.... But it makes sense what was said about the transmission gears being larger and requiring higher rpm to maintain that speed. It just seems strange that this problem even exists.
Could a new tranny be the solution?
This is my First Volkswagen and the first time I've experienced this so bear with me.
Thanks for your help guys.

Sorry I thought 99 vr6 were the mk4 and therefore had a 6th gear. Clearly you have no 6th gear or sense of humour lol
Maybe if you posted exactly what car you had as I thought the mk3 finished in 98 and why like a post that clearly you hated?
