Is ther anyone local to me that can do a compresion test for me. If MOT goes ok think i will continue with the project. would just like to do a compresion test and make sure pistons, rings etc are all ok before going F/I. Im in portsmouth area
Team South was well represented last year and i'm sure there will be a few more this year to bolster the ranks. I'm quite happy to take a passenger or 2 again if anyone fancies going but unsure of taking their own car. Well il set myself a goal in over the next month i what i want to get done to my car and if its all ready and road legal i will drive if not may well ask for a lift if you have room for 2 Bungy. obviously i will give you fuel money etc.
lol well ive had a bit of luck lately and a friend of the family has offered me his dads old house to rent cheaply (i mean cheaply) 3 bedroom garage and garden fingers crossed it all goes to plan.
Lol well lets hope MOT goes ok and i get some inspiration back not to sell the car and continue spending money on it. Craggys when do you think you will be stripping engine and have head spacer for sale.
Not good m8. I had same things a few years back on my polo was devastated lol. Hope you get it all sorted ok. If you got a good sprayer let me no cause if i pass mot i shall be thundering on with my project and want to get some rust and paint sorted.
Yea go for it. You could allways follow jim potters guide he turbo'd his car for under £1000 and he now runs nearly 400bhp. If you are going to fit a turbo make sure you fit a head spacer and new headgasket to lower compresion ratio otherwise it wont last 2mins.
its not the engine that the problem its the parts you are buying very cheap etc. Turbo could break causing fragments of it to be sucked into your engine and writting it off. But by all means give it a go and let us all now how you get on.
Cheers for the offer m8 but with nothing ready and tent not checked will have to give it a miss im affraid. Fingers crossed mot goes ok il get in contact with you if im in need of some welding then. Think the rear axle bushes mite be a pain as well looking at access etc.
