  1. The km counter only shows lines, but the trip counter works fine. What can be wrong? My outside temp and oil temp dosent show anything, it just goes straight to the clock when i push the button for the onboard computer. Can it be the "feelers" that has gone?

I need a new/used starter for my G3 vr6, but i have seen that there are some different ones out there, some have nine teeths and some have ten teeths, and then som have to places you screw it on and some have three places. What do theese difference do/meen, can i use any of them? My vr6 is an old 92´ model by the way
  3. Why would someone do all that work from obd1 to obd2? Is it only better for turbo tuning or are there other things to gain going from obd1 to obd2?
  4. So bottomline is that there is no effect to gain with the 2.9 TB, it just works better in high revs than the 2.8 one, and the 2.8 one works better in low revs?

  6. 2.8 OBD1 TB are 64mm and 2.9 TB is 72mm. The 2.8 OBD2 TB is (as far as i know) also 72mm.
  7. How much will i gain with those to parts? Some say that the inlet will not give any gains without the 2.9 throtlebody, but is that correct?
  8. Yes it drinks some oil and vw says its normal, i just think its weird to make an engine that drinks oil. Mine drinks about 1 liter for every 1000 km. Couls the tapping noise come from low oil presure due to worn rod bearings? I now on the Escort RS turbo the tappets can be noise if the rod bearings is worn. I have new bearings and tappets and will when i change them give the engine som new piston rings, then the noise and oil drinking should be over right?
  9. Its been about 5000 km since last oil change, so i dont think its the oil.
  10. Yes i did and it was fine. Could it be the valve lifters, and if yes, wouldnt they do it all the way up through the rev count and not just when in low revs?
  11. My window in the passagerside only works with the engine turned of, before it worked 95% of the time with or without the engine turned on. I gues its a bad connection of some sort, but where do i look? I have lokked in the door and the connecters and wires looks fine. Its realy weird that it wont work with the engine turned on :-/ The car is a Golf 3 vr6 from 92´ by the way ;-) Thanks in advance :-)
  12. Im the proud owner of a 92´vr6 and im from Denmark. My engine have allways had a slight tapping noise but nothing major, but now after my girlfriend (now former girlfriend) has been driving it for aprox. 400 km the engine has a much louder tapping noise. Has she drivin it hard when it was cold and what seems to be the reason for the tapping noise being louder now and when cold? By the way the tapping is only between 700 rpm and 2200 rpm, after that you cant hear any tapping. Thanks in advance for your help :-) PS The engine has done aprox. 160.000 km
  13. Is there such a thing? My shift is pretty darn tight and if i rev give it some and shifts quick my 3 gear is a litle crunchy. First i thought i could be air in the slavecylinder, but there was none, well, with the engine turn of there where none, but with the engine on there where a litle wich i sorted, but i didnt help the tightness and the crunching in 3 gear. So i would really appreciate if someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance :-)
  14. Does that litle hose even have to be connected to the inlet hose? I have blinded the inlet hose hole where the litle hose from the valve cover goes and have the valve cover hole oben out in the air.
  15. How many Newton Meters shall i use when assembling the rods?
  16. It does drip very litle oil at the bottom of the trany, so maybe, just maybe, its just oil it needs :-)
  17. Is that expensive to replace? I cant do it my self because i dont know anything about tranys :-(
  18. By the way is there an easy way to find out or does the trany have to come off?
  19. When the car is in neutral and i dont push down the clutch pedal i can hear a noise that sounds like a bearing gone bad, but when i push down the clutch the noise stops. Is it the highspeed axel bearing(i think thats what its called)or the "clutch" bearing(the one that goes back and forth everytime you use the clutch).
  20. I have heard that there is a trick to keep the chains "up", but thats only if you change the cams and such. The head gasket dont need to replaced but i just thought that it might be a good idea when i have plans of replacing the other bits. That guide to keep the chains "up", is there someone who has a link? I only read about it for a couple of years back, so i dont have a link to where i read it myself. It would be really freat if the link includes pics. Thanks in advance
