use some lighter petrol ,(the stuff you fill zippo type lighters up with),spray it on the sticky pads as petrol eats the adesive so will come off niceand easy, put some on let it soak 30 secs to a min have a go at wiping it if not repeat as before until job done, this is also good for taking off stickers ,graphics, sign writing etc off of anything not just cars, tip of the day

drivers side under car just before back wheel ,have a look, looks like a can ,you can probly feel it if you run your hand along underneath ,engine off , on the filter you will see a pipe going in and a pipe going out ,use somthing to squeeze both the pipes just before they go onto filter, this stops fuel shooting out when yo take the pipes off , next take off the pipes and make sure you know what way the pipes go there is an arrow picture on the old filter so when you put the new one on you put the tubes the same way with regards to the arrow , sorted! im sure if you search this site there -

i cant be sure of an actual check you can do but somone might, but ive always believed its good to change it every 10k or 20k as its a filter and if it does its job filtering crap out of fuel then its gonna be filled up with that crap so its worth a change especially as mine was the one that came with the car from new and now it has neary 80k on the clock, god knows if the owners before me drove round on the red of the fuel gage and kept pulling crap up from the bottom of the petrol tank. well worth a change for £8 and and a couple of jubilee clips -
hi ,ive owned a mk2 before and all i can say is the interior cockpit etc is like sitting in some kind of 1970's eastern european cheapo car if you know what i mean ,no quality or comforts i did have electric windows in mine but didnt use much as i didnt want them to get stuck or pack up half way down but this my opinion or maybe i had a shite mk2? as for the mk3 complete opposite always liked them you lots previous posts have answered it already anyway ,so i better shut up now,
