  1. thats no problem, i still havnt had an answer to my question ,though, are the symptoms i,m describing likely to be the maf?
  2. does it come from the left hand side of the rocker cover as you face the engine?where the breatherpipe comes out
  3. yea mate tried that i,m going to see if the local parts shop will let me borrow a maf to try, i see gsf do them for £50 i was quoted £280 by one of the local motor factors and £230 by the local vw dealer
  4. you sure its not thetappets, does it go away above 2000 rpm mine rattles til its above this and it will be worse when its cold
  5. there must be ,it says on the fitting instructions that it was desigfned to run without one ,i would fit one if it would cure the problem
  6. right heres an update ,i,ve cleaned the tghrottle body ,it was clean anyway and put on a new gasket, i,vew now noticed when its ticking over if i pull the plug off the maf it ticks over smoother,i pulled a plug and they seem fine and i went out in it earlier on and my god it goes like stink on the throttle , but thats no use if its crap to drive any other time is it?
  7. hi mate i,ve tried cleaning it and it didnt work so i got another one that was working and cleaned that and its still the same

  9. i,ve had a look but everything is obd2 and i,m obd1 and to be honest i,ve no clue about vag-com or how it works and what i need can you get a hand held code reader

  11. did anybody solve the surging issue at part throttle? my zr2 system is the very same ,it,s very jerky at very light throttle openings and ok at full throttle, ive changed the maf and idle valve so far. i live in central scotland and i,m not sure who could map it, its running a zengineering chip at the moment and its obd1
  12. hi mate its got a maf aftter the charger as it says it should be this way in the fitting guide, its obd1,it was doing the stalling at junctions trick before i fitted the charger and sincec i fitted the charger its got worse, the only things that are the same from before and after the charger was fitted are the pipe running from the maf to the throttle body as the one supplied didnt fit so i had to cut the origional pipework to make it fit(silicone replacements on order) and the throttle body.
  13. no they are designed to run this way, all the kit is there cos i,ve got a checklist from z engineereing and its complete ,so would a airleak cos this problem
  14. its a z-engineeering zr2 charger it has no dump valve,it came with a z engineering chip which should suit the setup ok i know it won,t be 100% cos every car is different but it should run good , i really want to know would an air leak cause this problem because i,ve really checked everything else
  15. i,ve fitted my zr2 charger and the car will take full throttle but if i just lightly touch the pedal it stutters badly it does this in all gears and all speeds i just rest my foot on the pedal and it stuters, i,ve changed the maf and idle valve and checked all the wiring,a couple of things crossed my mind before i fitted the charger when i pulled up at junctions it would sometimes stall, now since i,ve fitted the charger ,and i might add i had to use some of the standard pipework, it does it all the time,i,ve searched forum upon forum for answers but nothing,now i,ve been thinking could an air
  16. my vr6 is idling fine but when i try to pull away its like a kangaroo but if i press the throttle further it goes ok, i,m not getting full power but its not too bad ,when i come into town its back to kangaroo juice again ,anybody any ideas , i,ve been offered a replacement maf from the same model ie obd1 but the numbers on the top of it are different will it be ok cheers for any help guys
  17. hi i need a 7 rib double sided belt for my vr6 zr2 supercharger i,ve measured the lenght at 1530mm ,i,ve been to a few motor factors but nobody seems to do one that lenght ,does anybody know where i could get one from?
  18. i,m looking for a boost gauge for my charger, most seem to be for turbos with high boost can anybody recommend one for a 7psi supercharger
  19. yes make sure its got all the correct fittings for your car, if your car is ac and the charger kit is non a/c i,ll swap you brackets.i,m looking for one at the moment,the idler pulley bracket
  20. how did you get on with this mate i,m looking for a tensioner for a non a/c zr2 charger
  21. i,ve got a zr2 supercharger but it came from canada and all there cars seem to have a/c so the tensioner pulley is different to our cars in that it only has 1 pulley wheel where as ours requires 2 for non a/c where would i get one does anybody know?
  22. hi guys my vr6 is stalling when its warm ,ie the engine not the outside temp , i,ve cleaned the maf throttle body and the idle valve , fitted new plugs and leads but its still doin it any ideas cheers
