  1. i,ve also missed the local dealers for oil and a filter ,which would others reccommend other than vw stuff?
  2. what i,m trying to say is the threaded bar is slimmer than the sandwhich plate whole heres a pic not too good but they,ll give you an idea of what i,m talking about, i reckon if i cut the threaded bit to the correct lenght and centre the plate on the threaded bar it should be ok, the only thing thats bothering me is i had a look on ebay at vr6 sandwhich plates and they had an additional piece that took up the slack
  3. the problem i,ve got now is i,ve not got a threaded bar all i have is a replacement bolt ,the big one that holds the heat exchanger and the sandwich plate centre hole is too big for this ie it can move about obviously when i tighten it down it might be ok but i,ve the same problem as you the bolt is too long
  4. i got an oilcoolerkit today and once i,d drained the oil i started to fit it,it was a pain finding somewhere to mount it but its on, now i got a stat with mine but i,ve no idea where it goes,i,ve got a funny feeling its the wrong one cos its not obvious where it goes,has anybody got a pic?or advice

  6. i,ve got a boost gauge on my charged vr and its been chipped by vince and seems to pull very well,my question is where should i see the boost gauge at different rpms its an 8 psi pulley and in second gear when i floor it no boost is shown on the gauge til 4000rpm then it climbs steadily til the redline where it peaks at 8psi in the higher gears when i floor it it seems to not make boost as quick and not as much it still goes like feck is this a normal boost curve for a supercharger?theres no leaks and i,ve sprayed the belt with belt dressing so i,m hoping theres no slipping i really just want

    vince sent me a chip for the whole setup , i called him today and he reckons its belt slip so i,ve put some belt dressing on it if that dosnt work its time to take it to bits and machine more adjustment into the tensioner

    since i put the bigger injectors in my car it seems the boost is lower 6-7 psi rather than the 8.5 psi i had before, also it takes a while to make full boost its not getting to the top psi until its at the limiter, i,ve checked for slack belt and leaks and everything seems ok, any ideas?
  9. i think mine is 2 inch at the front it may be 2.5 at the rear but i took off the front pipe to fit the probe for the afr meter and it was only 2 inch i think it might be chokeing it, but tbh i,m not going to spend anymore on it as yet as i think a divorce would be on the cards LOL
  10. hi guys got my new chip from vince today thanks to all who recommended him he,s been very helpfull, anyway i reset the ecu and ran it for about 30 miles and gave it the beans its reading off the richness scale at full throttle in 2nd and about 11 ish in the other gears ,it ticks over off the scale at the leaness side and drives normally at about 13 -15.5 i have no issues with it but i do think its running a tad rich at full throttle but the plugs were fine ,could the ecu still be adapting, i,ll be calling vince tommorow to let him know how i got on but in the meantime i just wanted to know

  13. as you look at the oil housing theres 2 plugs at the fron ,and at the back left there should be another sensor,maybe the previous owner had it go faulty and put a bolt in it instead of getting a new sensor
  14. whats the best sparkplugs for a supercharged vr6 ? its stage 2 8 psi i,m useing standard plugs at the moment is that ok or should i change them?
  15. try all the usual suspects first ie clean the maf the throttle body the idle valve and check all the connections to them all

  17. been on the phone to vince today and he,s reccommended i get a better fuel pump , my car is still fitted with a 8v one, so where would i get one that will be powerfull enough to feed a charged motor , i,m looking for the easiest way possible ,somebody said a 16v mk2 golf one would do it

  19. called vince today he was very helpfull ,advised me to get a new fuelpump and bigger injectors and he,s going to do me a chip to suit, i,m well pleased
  20. right the next question is ,will it be safe to drive around in til i have the cash to sort it? also if i can get a set of red injectors would that help the problem? where would i get red ones from do any other vw,s use them?
  21. the chips i have are both obd1 one for a distributor car and one for a coilpack car the zengineering chip is supposedly the one for the coilpac and the giac one is the one for the dizzy if i swapped them over would the car still go? i fully intend to call vince tommorow i,m just inquisitive
