Ive got 7.5j wide with 215/40/17's on and they rub like s**t on the back bumper. Its ok on the front, but ive only got 60/40 sport suspension, so the front is a little higher. You do have to drive it really slow on bumpy roads though even without people in the back.

I would put the 205's on imo.

Yeah theres a place in america that does the new shape flip keys for all genaration golfs. Can't remember the name, but i will look it up for you today. They have got a website aswell

I remember a few years back there were a couple of companys in germany that were doing a 4 wheel drive system for the mk3 vr6 (don't know if it was syncro). It might be worth a quick search.

I have the same problem, when i go over speed humps and the odd bumps in the road. I had the top mount dohnut things changed for the MOT last year (because it failed) and everything felt tight. But then about 3 months later i had that knocking sound from the N/S front. Took the car for this years MOT, to the same place with the same man that does my car, and it passed. So i am very confused now. I would like to know what it is. Ive got a spax suspension kit by the way

ive got the same problem, Does it sound like if you were to run a stick down the side of a fence.? We worked out that it was the clutch release bearing. Do a search on the forum.

HI i had 17's on mine with a 40mm drop on the front and 60 on the back, same size tyres and wheels, Ididn't get any rubbing on the front but the rears touch the back bumper part of the arch if your kaining it down a county lane or bumpy road, but they fit inside the arch. Hope thats of some help.

I tryed the allen key, it does the same thing as when you use the switch, so i'm guessing it's what stockers says. I'm going to try that tonight.

Drove to work this morning and tryed to open the sunroof (let the smoke out cause windows don't work)

It had frozen somewhere cause when i opened it, it made a dirty great noise. Now, it still works fine, slides back and forth and tilts, but it doesn't "click up" in the final closed position. I had a look but i couldn't find any plastic pieces broken off or anything. Before i broke it, when it was shut, you couldn't move it at all, but now when it's shut, you can push the sunroof up and down with your hand about 3-4mm. Would i need a new mechanism or is there a cheap way of fixing it?

It's getting on my nerves now cause it does not shut fully, and it's going to rain tonight and i don't want to get in the car in the morning to find out my leather is ruined.

Please Please HELP. I need all the help i can get.

I got 110c out of mine when i was on the motorway driving up to silverstone for the grand prix. OK, so i was racing a BMW and a clio V6, but it was 7.00 in the morning and quite cool. I was doing 120mph for about 3 mins at a time, but as soon as i saw the temp at 110 i had to bring the speed down to 60mph for about 5 mins untill the temp came down to 100.
